Lovely lunch at the Black Horse,in fact possibly the best meal I've had out in Braunton for a very long time,we asked for one child's gammon and chips with a extra plate as the youngest can be a bit picky and what we got was two meals both easily enough for a adult,my lamb shank was lovely as well.A bit... New Manager in the Black Horse.Coming up to Christmas always a difficult time to make an impression. Anni seems to be the person to accomplish this. A warm welcome, good ideas for the festive season. The beer, as the locals like it, and a good choice.

We visited the Black Horse on a Saturday lunch time. The menu is not extensive but covers what I would call the sort of food you would expect in a traditional pub.I plumbed for scampi and chips and my wife the steak and kidney pudding. Both were well-presented and decent size portions.

Stumbled upon by accident by my husband. Really friendly barman with a smile. Fantastic pub grub. Worth a visit and they know how to serve a pint. Good tunes too!!

What a local pub should be. No, there's no bistro olive sharing boards. But there is well kept ale out the barrel, friendly conversation, and a good background music soundtrack... Under new management who deserve support against the massed ranks of carveries. Find it, use it.

Good not exceptional. In the town centre, so ideal for a nice lunch with shopping to follow. The standard is adequate but not exceptional.

Visited in July during the week that new Management had just taken over, however there was a full menu available. A good choice of real ales and a very welcoming staff. Tucked away in the back streets away from the village centre but well worth the 10 minute walk. The home made chips were for me the highlight, just like... More

Good pub with character tucked away in the older part of Braunton. Real ale straight from the barrel. Proper home made pub food. Go for the pie if it is on.

What a lovely little traditional pub The Black Horse is! Hidden in a little street behind St Brannocks churchyard, its really nice in every way and the food we had was brilliant! We can't wait to visit again!

We've been wanting to move to Braunton for quite some time and asked one of our local friends to give us a good local pub to try out rather than the typical tourist traps. We were directed to The Black Horse. What a great choice. The owner was very welcoming and, although we didn't have any food, other people's looked... More
