A welcome sight in the middle of the moors and a torrential downpour. We three ran through the rain into a pub full of character and comforting dryness. Lovely views through the rain and then the mist lifted. A very helpful lady behind the bar...More

Another nice meal seated at the window over looking Dartmoor, does it need to be better? Real fires, different seating depending on your circumstances, pet friendly, good food and service.

It's hard to imagine a nicer pub and setting although - as the highest pub in southern England - getting there could be a little fraught in a hard winter. With two fires that burn through the year; a good and varied menu; excellent beer;...More

Visited the Warren House many times as we live in the village of Ilsington where we run The Old Stables B&B and if we are not visiting then we send our guests there. A real Devon pub, so much charm, the food is good old...More

Have been past this pub many times and it has always been so busy, we haven't ventured inside. On this occasion we were just out for a "mooch on the moor" and saw there was room to park the car for a change. Ventured inside...More

We came here for drinks and puddings and had a lovely time. The staff are nice, the portions big and a good selection of both drinks and puds was on offer.

Traditional pub in isolated moor location recommended in 'good pub guide'. Real fire and wooden tables and chairs. Choice of beers and food menu, with specials. Good service and wholesome food.

They are good for all meals. I think they server until 9pm. I've never had to book, but I don't usually go during things like school holidays or other times like that.
