My son and I stayed here yet again the night before taking part in a charity walk for the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Plymouth). Having left London at 05:30, we were walking on the moor at 11:15. 15 miles later, the Plume was a welcome sight. As usual we stayed in the new bunkhouse, which is basic but clean... More

Have visited Dartmoor and Princetown many times (not the prison) but have never been to this pub. It was a Sunday trip and saw that they had a carvery. Very pleased we went in, very polite staff and very nice food, and reasonably priced.

Popped in after a walk on the moors for a Sunday carvery. We did book a table in advance and its a good job we did! We were seated in a corner of the bar area so that we could accommodate our 3 little dogs. It was a bit of a tight squeeze, so if you were of "larger build"... More

Visited on one of those days when the mist was swirling around the pub and it was like something from the Hound of the Baskervilles Not been here since the 70s and 80s but little has changed Great selection of ales and liquor Comprehensive menu and black boards Very friendly staff and good service Just wish I could have stayed... We had dinner at this pub after a long walk. I had fish and chips, and my friend, a vegan and falafel burger. Both were really tasty The fish was huge and served with a 'paper bag' of delicious chips ( the homemade type with the skin on) . On the side as a huge portion of really good mushy... More

What lovely people, couldn't be more helpful, even a doggy menu. Food was really lovely & Rupert the dog would recommend the cold cuts (not just token sample, loads of meat)

Reasonably priced food, good atmosphere and interesting information about the railway that used to run from Tavistock to Princetown. The pub is within 2minutes walking distance from The Visitors Centre. Only slightly annoying factor (for me) was being called 'sweetie' or similiar repeatedly by the staff.

I visited here for the carvery last weekend Which was wonderful, great portion of meat and very friendly welcoming staff and very friendly chef. However me and my family decided to return on Sunday and wasn't as great due to different staff but otherwise highly recommend.

Situated right in the centre of Princetown in the middle of Dartmoor this is a pub I've been to a few times over the years and it never fails to deliver. from the outside I have to say it doesn't look great but once through the door it's a very different picture. I was there on a very wet weekend... More

Very professionally run with helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Lots of locals who obviously eat here regularly, as well as hikers on a day trip- all made welcome. We opted for a "small" carvery- no way we could have managed a large. Excellent choice and quality
