Had lunch here with a group of friends whilst out walking. Very welcoming log fire on a wet drizzly day. The pub had a reasonable selection of beers to chose from. Staff were friendly and attentive and the pub was attractive and 'olde-worlde' inside. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty - exactly what was needed. Also the food was... More

We were not made to feel very welcome, when I tried to ask the lady a question it seemed too much for her to answer. Not sure how they cooked the food because the pie was only warm although it was tasty.

Called in at end of our walk. Very friendly staff. Our friends arrived an hour earlier for coffee and were made welcome. Basic pub food - my fish and chips were very good, pizza also good.

Walked up here from woolacombe on New year's day. A Sunday carvery was just finishing, the good looked and smelt delicious!! We returned the following evening to get the food and we're not disappointed!! Proper home cooked food at reasonable prices. If in the area I would reccomended a visit. We hope to try the Sunday lunch next time we're... More

Not once did the staff acknowledge you or make eye contact with me or any of the customers while I was at the bar. Service was reluctant and slow. This has often been the case in the past as well. Come on management do some training as you are losing repeat business. Or are you not fussed.

I seem to recall being disappointed two years ago when I stopped off here, and I was again. Only had baguettes for lunch, but it's how you go about it that matters most. We could have forgiven the dearth of cheese in my wife's choice for lunch (my sausages were more visible) but there was only one ale on, there... More

Having just sighted my new caravan on easewell farm just up the road from mortehoe and my mum eating here before I was eager to eat here. It's a lovely old seaside pub with loads of eating areas including upstairs. The menu has a great choice of food to suit anyone's taste and also a daily special board . I... More

Used the Ship during our week stay in Mortehoe. Nice welcoming atmosphere, good rang of beers, ales and ciders. Good choice of food and very reasonably priced. Catered well for our party of 6 adults and 3 children. Fair sized seating area outside, plenty of room inside and upstairs. Only place in Mortehoe to watch live tv football. Staff were... More
