Knowing this pub can be busy we booked a table for dinner before leaving Cheshire. First impressions were good the setting is lovely, however, the Maltsters is tired & tatty and really needs a makeover. It seems the notion of meet & greet has not...More

We ate in the pub with a river view table for lunch, and brought a dog too! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I had the mussels, caught locally and skate which were sublime with nicely balanced sauces. There is a beautiful view over...More

Have so far visited twice for dinner during our holiday. The food has been uniformly excellent (great skate wing!) and nice service to match. It’s busy and we’ve always booked. Some of the other more negative reviews don’t match our experience. We will be back...More

The setting on the edge of the tidal Dart river is picturebook perfect, gulls, white herons and ducks foraging, boats bobbing about and wooded riverbanks. Had heard good things but the food was just average pub fare. It was Sunday roast night and the portions...More
