We visited for Sunday lunch. The hotel is in a magnificent setting and the decor and layout of the restaurant was lovely. We started with a glass of champagne followed by oysters and the Sunday roast, which was beef. Just about managed to finish the tarte tatin. The price for three courses was £45 which represented good value, both for... More

Well what can I say about Matthew - he was graceful, well versed, funny and kept us entertained throughout our meal. He was attentive but not overly and directed us through the menu well. I felt relaxed in his company and he knows what I mean when I say he has great hair!!! If you visit you will be very... More

With stunning views this is a charmed and charming venue. The quality of service is supreme and yet it's delivered with warmth and no hint of stuffiness. Scotland's local produce is showcased at it's very best. We ate dinner and breakfast here on this occasion and both meals were simply fabulous. Smoked salmon was hand -carved at the table -... More

I had breakfast at this restaurant. They have a buffet breakfast and a choice of meals which are prepared in the kitchen. The selection of food in the buffet is extensive and you could have a range of fruits and yogurts. They have a great selection of foods for your Scottish breakfast. All food is locally sourced and the quality... More

We were lucky enough to eat in the Strathearn twice this visit, a Saturday evening meal and Sunday lunch. Both utterly brilliant. The food, the service, the wine and surroundings make this an absolute treat to behold. Massively expensive andsome of the supplements are on the high side but as a treat i cant recommend enough.

The Strathearn, the glamorous heart of Gleneagles, is one of Scotland's most sophisticated yet buzzy destination restaurants, recreating the elegance of a bygone era with a theatrical flourish. Silver butler trays are whisked with calm confidence between the grand pillars to your candlelit table, filling the air with the scent of flambéd cognac, whisky, pernod or sweet, caramelised Grand Marnier. Steeped in a rich Franco-Scottish tradition, our passionate chefs bring seasonal, locally sourced classics (the names Thermidor, Bonne Femme, Diane, Wellington, Chateaubriand, crêpe Suzette, and, of course, Scottish smoked salmon echo down the ages) to a smart, convivial contemporary audience. The Strathearn is also the home of the legendary Gleneagles breakfast and Sunday lunch.
