Stunning interior, beautifully designed with very well trained friendly staff. Value for money, spot on for lunch. I had the sea bass which was very small and thin ( had larger in Glasgow yesterday) which was rather swimming in sauce - tip - ask for it in a jug.

We ate in this superb restaurant while staying at the hotel on Valentine's Day. There was a special set menu for the Valentine weekend at ÂŁ45/head. It was certainly fantastic value for money - we both enjoyed amazing food. I had the prawn, lobster and smoked salmon cocktail, hubby had seafood bisque. We both had peppered sirloin steaks (ÂŁ5 supplement), followed by the grand assiette of desserts. All simply delicious.. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, the music is not loud but is audible, the staff are attentive and pleasant. We had a lovely bottle of Malbec and after the meal, had coffee and petit fours in the lounge. A truly scrumptious treat..

Had the pleasure to dine here based on an overnight in the Hotel
Staff were extremely friendly and very courteous. Nothing was a bother to them.
The menu was very good it had some great choices that, in some cases, can be difficult to decide what to have
We had a white onion velouti as an Amuse- Bouche and it was delicious, followed by scallops, chicken terrine, our mains of Rib-eye and Lamb again were outstanding
I will be delighted to recommend this to our friends and family
We will definitely return
10/10 all round

We’ve been here umpteen times; birthdays, valentines, weddings and it’s always the same random issues ? We can’t fault the staff at all, but their hands are tied by the kitchen and whoever is in charge on any given day. We both had the roast sirloin with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings. It was the poorest offering we’ve ever had here : the beef was rare ( to the point of still bleeding out ) and the other was nuked. We both ordered medium. The potatoes were reheated from lunch, the green beans had bypassed hot water and were raw ( uncooked ) and forgive me, the pudding would easily find a slot replacement on my drive.
We paid a substantial amount for the experience and trust me, it will never happen again.

Went with my wife for afternoon tea. Lovely setting and all the food really nice, but oh my god what amateur service! From arrival, we had to park the car in the woods and walk to the hotel as the drive was blocked by a bus and wedding party guests, pure chaos and one young female member of staff in complete disarray over what to say or do. Welcome was ok and seating in restaurant really nice with views over the lawn gardens. Service slow and staff seemed completely at odds with each other. Afternoon tea finally arrived and quality was excellent, unfortunately tea and coffee took way too long to arrive to go with this. No refills offered and had a job trying to catch the attention of any of the waiting staff to get another cup of coffee. Trying to pay the bill proved impossible as the waiting staff continued to run around in a disjointed state. Eventually we gave up and my wife went up to the bar to pay, only to wait and wait for any of the staff to engage with her. Lovely venue and lovely food, but the service is a major let down, to the point where I’m not sure if we’d go back. Noticed a women complaining about the service as we were leaving, and a nice family group sitting adjacent to us were treated dreadfully, having asked for drinks at least 3 times and receiving nothing after more than half an hour. Lochgreen seriously need to up their game with more attentive and professional staff. PS can I point out to Serge or Sergio the senior waiter, that in 2024 it’s not appropriate to put his arm around my wife’s shoulder to chaperon her to our table!!

After being introduced to the experience of fine dining and the stories that can be told through food by my wife, I have really come to appreciate the joy of eating the creations of great chefs. I never thought I would become a foodie, but here we are.
The quality on offer at the prices the Lochgreen charges, I feel like we robbed the place.
From the moment the Amuse-bouche arrived, we knew exactly what Stephen and his team were about. This was going to be a flavour filled night.
I started with the duck, and what an adventure in texture and flavour it was. At least 2 minutes were spent just admiring the presentation and the wondering how it should be unpacked through the foam. My wife was equally impressed with her Ham Hough and sourdough. I feel like these two starters showed the range of complexity the Chef was willing to take, but that the focus of both was simple flavour.
Our main, the venison, was hands down the best venison I have ever had the pleasure to eat. It was almost like the deer had been raised exclusively on beetroot and fine cigars. The smoke and sweet flavours came together to really capture the wilderness you would associate with both the life and death of the animal.
I can't comment on the dessert as it was almost exclusively dairy filled, and I was also too stuffed to eat another bite.
12/10, we can't wait for the new menu so we can come back, so lucky to have this on our doorstep.

The Lochgreen Hotel is a beautiful hotel. We ate in the main restaurant and had a very good meal. The experience was slightly let down by the service, especially towards the end of the evening when virtually no waiting staff were around. At one point I thought I might need to go into the kitchen to get someone.
Receptionist also lost all enthusiasm by the end of the evening, she only barely said goodbye. Staff need to keep standards up until the place closes.

Came today for lunch. Food is excellent! On the other hand service is absolutely dreadful!! Serving drinks just seems to be a problem. And even when staff are reminded we were still waiting it just did not happen! Sorry but suggest they go to bring your own bottle as they seem incapable of even simple requests like white wine with main course or port with dessert. Disappointed!

Visited on Saturday and really looking forward having heard some good reviews. Setting great and service superb food very disappointing.
Starter of goats cheese and beetroot salad average and a tiny portion.
Main of veal just ridiculous portion size. I thought the biggest con of last century which was nouveau cuisine had died but apparently not. I estimate that there was about two ounces of veal on my plate (imagine about one quarter of a normal sized 8 ounce steak) and a tiny amount of vegetables which at ÂŁ28 was somewhat annoying.
I genuinely think that the food on my plate would have fit into two tablespoons.
Desert looked pretty but quite tasteless.
At approximately ÂŁ50 per head for three courses grossly overpriced and will not be going back.
I will be having some interesting conversations with friends who recommended this restaurant.
If you want somewhere to impress through the grandeur of the venue and the attention and professionalism of the staff then this is the place but don’t rely on the food.

We had a really enjoyable dinner at Bisque. Whilst the dining room looked somewhat old school formal, the atmosphere was not. Service was particularly attentive.
The signature bisque starter was very good, main courses of sole (special of the day) together with a generous green vegetable side dish, excellent. With little room left we shared a tarte tatin dessert.
Our meal, was marginally more expensive but superior to that we had at the nearby Piersland hotel.

Booked a table, on arrival sat in the lounge had a drink and ordered courses. After fifteen minutes escorted to the restaurant. Immediately the staff were attentive bringing a selection of breads, oils, butter also a gazpacho taster. Our first courses arrived, the scallops were delightful. The main course a filet was cooked to perfection, only issue, the pomme frites were delayed. Overall a relaxing pleasant experience, standards have improved and would recommend this experience

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Bisque restaurant. The food was very tasty; our steaks cooked absolutely to order and beautifully served. The side order of chips ( Pomme Frits) were exactly what I wish all chips tasted like
I particularly enjoyed my Scallop Risotto which was rich and beautifully prepared.
Service was first class as was the wine list with some lovely wines at relatively reasonable prices.
We were so full after a starter and main that we skipped desert and enjoyed a coffee and petite fours in the bar.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at Bisque yesterday. There was a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were excellent.
The food itself was delicious, I had perfectly cooked calamari, the rack of local lamb and the salted caramel tart, even the bread was a treat!
It was our first meal out as a couple for 18 months due to Covid and I was a little nervous but all Covid measures were in place. There was hand sanitiser, well spaced tables and some windows open for ventilation. I felt very safe and was able to relax and enjoy the food. We will definitely return!

It’s one of our favourites, but it went spectacularly wrong tonight ; starters were fantastic, but when your plates ( for the main ) are nuclear hot , there’s something wrong in the kitchen. As a result, two beautiful dishes were overcooked, over seasoned and untimely, ruined. The “posset” with the “covering” of fresh strawberries? It was a dead pudding ! My cheeseboard had oat cakes I wouldn’t feed to the dogs. Can someone explain to me why you can go from A to Z so badly ?

Excellent service from every single member of staff at both the Spa and restaurant. We were treated incredibly well and the food was amongst the best that I’ve ever tasted. Excellent value too for the Spa and lunch menu deal. We were treated to some of the chefs bread and butter which is an absolute must if it’s offered to you too. Well done Lochgreen - can’t think of any Ayrshire hotel that provides a better service or quality of food.
