Great little cafe at Ardbeg distillery - you can also have a whisky flight as part of your meal so that you can try all the whisky options before you buy. It looks to get busy, so you might need to wait for a table in peak season.

Of all the Islay distilleries I do not particularly like Ardbeg, but the tour is interesting and their cafe provides the best good, fresh and satisfying food and worth the visit at lunchtime.

Arrived after walking from Port Ellen and visiting the other two distilleries on the way. This is the only one to have a cafe. It's quite nice. Someone leaving the restaurant to go on tour recommend the soup of the day. The mushroom soup was delicious!!! It really warmed me up after the windy hike. As the tour group has... More

We had just missed the Ardbeg tour, so instead we had lunch at the cafe and browsed the store. My brie panini was delicious! And our waiter gave us our whisky for free ;) Overall a lovely experience.

Excellent meal. Do a tour or tasting at Ardbeg too. Or just get a dram with your meal. Options are diverse and dynamically arranged. We were so pleased.

Situated on the premises of the distillery in the same room as the Ardbeg shop. A lot of variation on the menu: sandwiches, salads and other warm and cold dishes. The food is excellent, the service very good and the prices reasonable. The access is not exclusively reserved to people who do the Tour or Tasting. It is a free... More

Went there twice while being on Islay. First I got haggis which was so good I'd eat it every day. On another visit I got something with goat cheese and the result was pretty much the same as with haggis.

The Old Kiln is one of our favourite places for lunch when visiting Islay. The food is consistently good quality and excellent value for money. Yesterday we visited to purchase the new release of Ardbeg Kelpie. We were provided with a generous dram of the new release to accompany our bacon and black pudding breakfast rolls. It proved to be... More

When on Islay this is a must and we always visit. The food is great and always a new choice on the specials board. Atmosphere is great and the staff are friendly and very knowledgable about the place and the whisky. For whisky drinkers the express tasting of 5 different expressions of Ardbeg is a great treat after your meal... More

What's better than to have lunch at a distillery? Right, having lunch at the Ardbeg distillery ;-). The food over there is amazing. People are really kind and whisky is used is some of the dishes on the menu. That's about everything you need to know.
