We had great expectations of An Birlinn - We had dinner here and whilst the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced we left feeling a little disappointed. There is no atmosphere - it felt more like a coffee shop and the staff were a little brusque. Would we go back ? Probably - Yes because the food was so... More

We found this to be the best place to eat on Mull - wide range of food and wine available at reasonable prices, in a great woodland setting with panoramic views.

We had a lovely meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with friends. The starters and main courses were very good but some of the desserts were dissapointing. The seafood stew is brilliant as are the haggis spring rolls. The Crannachan cheesecake lacked any taste and neededa good shot of whisky and some honey. It was not a crannachan im... More

Wonderful and beautiful restaurant, run by a German couple who know how to keep the guests happy. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! I highly recommend to book a table in advance as they are booked way in advance. A must visit when in Mull!

Girlfriend and I ate here after a trip to Ulva and then on to Calgary Bay, so were looking forward to it after hearing good things about it....and we were not disappointed in the slightest. Service, food and price were all worth the visit. Girlfriend had the haggis wrap to start and I went for the Spanish fish stew with... More

The restaurant was full when we arrived. The decor is lovely with high beamed ceiling. Our meals were excellent. I had the slow roasted brisket. It fell apart. It was a little spicy for my taste but it was nevertheless delicious. For pudding I had the chocolate pot which was to die for. It was a large portion, too. The... More

Impressed with atmosphere, quality of food and menu options (GF menu), although lacking in veggie options. Service a little slow but very friendly.

Spur of the moment decision to call in and they managed to fit us in. Ample choices on menu and lovely light & bright restaurant. Fresh fish choice was good and portion sizes ok.

I had to share our review of the fabulous food created by the team at Am Birlinn although we didn't actually visit the restaurant itself. Our trip to the Isle of Mull coincided with their annual fundraiser Supper with the Puffins when they take you to Lunga and serve fresh seafood, including BBQ lobster on the top of the cliff... We have eaten here a number of times over the years - the last two occasions have both been for lunch. This time, on arrival we were told the oysters, which are from very local waters, had not arrived - I groaned - 5 minutes later a small car sped into the car park and delivered said oysters - which...
