Wow, this was my introduction to Thai food & my husband’s birthday the first Thai that he has had for years. Both our waiter’s were so helpful , friendly and attentive. And the food was divine, beautifully presented and delicately flavoured. The price was a nice surprise too

My wife and I went on Sunday afternoon for the lunch menu, which is 3 courses for £14.95. I had the Thai fish cakes and my wife had the Satay, both delicious with excellent sauces, followed by the Pad Gra pao, which is spicy and I was asked how hot I liked and it was spiced to my taste as well which is very hot and it was fantastic with a really subtle and layered chilli heat that built up as you ate the dish, amazing and we had the banana roll which was light and full of flavour, with 3 x soda and limes, total bill £33.50. Brilliant value, quickly served and lovely and fresh food with authentic Thai flavours. The staff are very friendly and care about your dining experience. Brilliant little hidden gem for Thai food in this area, we will definitely be back with more friends and family for the dinner menu. Fantastic.

Staff welcome was warm and friendly, presentaion of the dishes made you want to get right in there and the taste didn't disapoint. price was very reasonable. Because of the lack of other diners made for the atmosphere to be subdued. Get down there soon and give Sabannga a try

As I have never been to the Sabannga restaurant decided to try a takeaway. Their on-line selection and payment process is very easy to use and I experienced no problems. Pickup time was given as an hour later. I turned up on time and, although had to wait 10 minutes, I was not surprised as the restaurant tables were all occupied (always a good sign) and the waitresses were kept very busy.
The meal was tasty. But, I have docked a star because the food was not very warm when I returned home and I had to reheat it in the microwave. This could not have been due to my journey back as I literally live at the end of the street and it took less than 2 minutes to drive back.
I would use the restaurant again as the food, once reheated, was very good. However, I will see what my next experience is like with respect to the temperature of the food as to whether I use it again after that.

This restaurant was amazing the food was presented just as it is in the pictures on the menu all the the finishing touches. The food is delicious the lunch menu is such good value it has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were just lovely. Will recommend to my friends and family and can see us becoming regulars

Went with friends for lunch and although the lunch menu offers fantastic deal up to £15 for 3 courses, we couldn’t resist ordering of the a la carte menu. I had the vegetable tempura with sweet chilli sauce, it was so light and delicious then I had the Pad Me Singapore, very tasty. Food was beautifully presented and service was excellent. With loads to choose from on the menu I’ll definitely be back.

The best Thai food I’ve ever had. I’m not good with spicy food and the staff suggested an incredible dish that I could handle with potatoes, cashews and beef. Yum! I’d also recommend the Green Curry spring rolls as appetisers. No spice, all flavour.
Like I said staff were incredibly friendly, atmosphere was lovely and only two stops from central Edinburgh by train, I will definitely be coming back!

I have had the pleasure of visiting this lovely Thai restaurant twice and had a take out once.
There has always been plenty of parking available in the restaurant car park or on street parking just outside.
I have never booked and they have always accommodated me without a problem.
There is a good selection on the menu and my one observation of this place is how quickly the food comes after I have ordered.
I have tried their more specialised curry offerings. The pork belly curry was absolutely delicious- I do like my curry spicy and they certainly obliged.
The quick service and friendly staff make it the perfect combo and I have no hesitation in recommending this place as a great stop for a very nice Thai meal!

I asked for a vegetarian version of a spicy beef curry and they were happy to oblige. Personally, I'd have preferred a bit hotter, but I appreciate that's not a common request locally.
Enjoyed the mushroom Tom Yum soup. The birds-eye chillies kicked in after a bit. My wife's panang curry was mild as requested.

We visited last night for the first time and will be the last. After reading good reviews we decided to try the restaurant. We were extremely disappointed with not only the poor customer service but the quality and portion size of the food, portions were way too small and just not as expected. We waited 1hr 15 mins from getting go our starters to main courses. The waitress advised the restaurant was too busy hence the reason for the poor service. If there aren’t enough staff or chefs to cope then they shouldn’t be taking as many bookings. We won’t return and will not recommend to friends and family. We also spoke to other diners in who felt exactly the same, one commented her wine glass was handed to her and was dirty. What was supposed to be a great start to our New Year ended up being one huge disappointment, will never return, total waste of money

Best Birthday present ever!!...this was truly a unique and memorable experience, I had the classic Thai green curry, and my partner had the nothern Thai classic hung lay (slow cooked belly pork curry) my goodness I can't praise this wonderful restraunt enough! First time in a Thai restaurant for both of us. Atmosphere and staff were brilliant too! I will not be waiting for my next Birthday before a second vist that's for sure 😂😂😂

Almost 5 star but my one big bugbear is cold plates and not just the plates we were eating from but the plates the food and rice was served in. By the time I was half way through dinner I was eating cold food, which is far from pleasant.
Now onto the positives. Food delicious and served beautifully. Very fresh ingredients and full of flavour. Portion size also perfect. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and efficient. Excellent value for money. We will be back and look forward to it, so long as the plates are warmed. Highly recommend.

Our first time to this restaurant after reading the reviews they were fantastic so thought can't be that good, but I stand corrected it's not the best looking place quite simple but very clean, the staff were so friendly and helpful to us so a big shout out to them, now the food fabulously plated so attractive and appetising to look at, but it tasted even better I can honestly say that it was the best food we have eaten in a long time, hot, fresh, flavoursome totally delicious. Will definitely be back. Could eat our way through the extensive menu.

Stopped in for sone thai food and was really impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. I was feeling brave enough to take a recommendation from the staff and was very happy with my fishcake starter and beef noodle main. We even had lovely cocktails after we ate.
If you are anywhere near here (just a couple of train stops from central Edinburgh) it is well worth stopping in.

Friendly, quick service, good food. Reasonable prices. I asked for spicy: my Tom yum soup was very spicy, the green chicken curry a bit less but still great.
The jasmine tea was thoughtfully supplied in a lovely insulated cup, to keep it perfectly warm. A nice touch.
If I lived closer, it would be a regular local.
The only minor point is that the room was a little chilly, not terrible, but I noticed some guests kept their jackets on.
It deserves it’s good rating.
