We've been coming to Tavy regularly for about 11 years and had got used to really enjoying the food under the previous owners. We visited the Inn twice during our stay last week and found the food to be fair but sadly I think the menu has lost a lot of imagination and is more expensive at the same time.... More

Stopped here on way back from a short stay at the excellent Crinan Hotel. The sun was shining and Tayvallich was looking it's best. The Tayvallich Inn overlooks the bay dotted with boats moored on the still waters. We sat on the outside terrace and feasted on mussels, langoustines, battered haddock and hand cut chips. Meal was faultless and the... More

We've been travelling to the west coast of Scotland regularly for 15 years and the Tayvallich Inn is a regular visit for us. Simple menu, with loads of emphasis on seafood. There are other choices of course and even a kids menu. Friendly staff, good range of drinks and the views across the bay are fantastic. Excellent value, our visit... More

After a great day cycling, walking, rock-jumping and climbing, we needed somewhere good for dinner. We had a table at the Tayvallich Inn overlooking the water; the service was first class, the menu good, the food first class, the atmosphere relaxing. A perfect end to a happy day.

The recent change of ownership has enhanced what was already an excellent eating place. This village Inn is popular with locals, regular visitors and tourists. The focus on excellent quality ingredients, with the shell fish landed from fishing boats in the bay, is accompanied by thoughtful cooking which results in delicious meals. Fish and seafood are prominent on the menu.... More

Visited on a lovely sunny afternoon. They stopped serving food at 2.30pm but as we arrived at 2.33pm they offered us a limited but adequate menu - the fish and chips were brilliant. Staff very friendly. Very comfortable bar area.

What a great place. The scenery is Scotland at its best. The Inn is located right across the road from the shore giving great views across the bay. Inside, it has a modern nautical, beachside theme giving it a fab ambience. The beers are a good mixture as is the spirits selection. Our starters were fish soup and chicken liver... More

This is our second visit last time 10 years ago when we stayed just up the path, it was great then. This time I had scallops in sweet chilli I was not disappointed. The meal was not cheap but as far as I'm concerned value for money. The place is under new management so if you like good food give... More

We dropped in at the Tayvallich Inn for a dinner while on a short break in February. The owners had just taken it over and were re-decorating the restaurant, so we ate in the bar. The food and wine were excellent, and our hosts Brian and Catherine looked after us really well. We talked about their plans for the summer... More

Description
Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food. Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.
