Friendly staff and good food reasonably priced. We visited here not realising that they were about to close. The staff were attentive, friendly and chatted to us about local places of interest even though by the time we were leaving the Bistro had closed. The helpings were generous and well presented. We had plenty to choose from on the menu.... More

We had been here once a couple of years ago on the recommendation of a friend. Very impressed with the lunch. Beautiful homemade lentil and smoked ham soup and sandwich. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and child and dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Myself and 7 friends were staying at The Strone in Luss and we were recommended the Village Rest by the owners. So glad we went for dinner during our stay, Kevin and his staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was beautiful and they had a lovely menu. We will definitely return on our next... More

Hi The previous review applies to THE PUBLIC TOILET IN LUSS - NOT THE VILLAGE REST Cafe Bistro! Just to make sure there is no confusion as the toilets and disabled facilities are excellent!

I knew of the Villiage Rest but had never visited. We were in the area and needed some breakfast so we thought we'd pop in. I had the full Scottish breakfast which was great, even came with toast & butter. My friend had 2 rolls with 2 fillings each. Coffee was nice enough. Service was pretty quick and friendly. Will... Visited from Australia & stayed at Inverbeg Holiday Park with family. The staff at The Village Rest were great - very friendly & great customer service. I had the best meal there. I am a vegetarian & found it difficult to get a decent meal but was not disappointed here. Their broccoli soup was amazing & their vegetarian chilli was... More

We've eaten at The Village Rest many times and today's visit merely reinforced our high opinion of this eatery. Service is consistently friendly and efficient in pleasant surroundings. The hot meals are freshly cooked, the salads and sandwiches are crisp and tasty. They also offer a decent range wine and beers if you feel the need. Good value for money... More

Just looked for a pet friendly eatery in Luss and this place popped up. Very plain but pleasant surroundings with some quirky Halloween touches, like a witch sitting at a table! Several customers had their dogs which were pampered and looked after by staff with a bowl of water . Food was quick to arrive and clearly fresh. Mexican chicken... More

Great food in a great location - that is what The Village Rest is all about. Always comfortable and friendly, you can be assured of a great time whether you're just in for a cup of coffee and a cake, or a large meal. Our varied and well balanced menu changes regularly and is in season and the food always fresh. We aspire to serve delicious homemade dishes with locally sourced produce. Our atmosphere is relaxed with an eclectic interior. The Village Rest is casual enough for lunch or tea, and yet formal enough for special occasions. In the perfect village of Luss, The Village Rest is ideally placed for enjoying Loch Lomond and the scenery of the national park. Arguably Scotland's most beautiful loch, Loch Lomond is also one of the largest. There is huge variety too, between the gentle sweeping farmland of the southern edge to the rugged highland shores of the north. Luss is positioned on the edge of the Highlands and has great views across to the islands and mountains of Loch Lomond.Luss is connected to central Scotland by the A82, a good quality fast road, with driving times of less than an hour from central Glasgow.
