Atmosphere is very nice, using the old parts of a Beauty Parlor that your grandmother might have frequented for touch ups and up do's in the late 60's, 70's. The dryers are real and the food is as well. I found it too pricey for...More

Everyone was delighted with their food choices for the festive bridal luncheon Entrees range from unusual small plates of parm fries w/truffles to more substantial banana pancakes with maple syrup. The BLT sandwich is humongous and delicious with loads of bacon and avocado. Waiter suggested...More

We loved EVERYTHING about this place! This is where Priscilla Presley apparently got her hair done when she lived in Memphis, and I'm not sure it's changed much since then! Lots of beauty shop touches - hair washing sinks behind the bar, fixed stand hair...More

We welcome kids! We do not have a separate children's menu, but we have several items on each of our menu that suit pickier eaters, and more adventurous eaters will find plenty of foods they'll enjoy.

Established in 2002. "Look Good. Eat Good." are the words emblazoned on the front windows at the Beauty Shop. This hip and trendy restaurant in the Cooper-Young district of midtown Memphis does both, as it conjures up images of a '50s-style beauty shop, formerly Priscilla Presley's curl-and-dye spot. It's a camp wonderland where the façade is Jetsons-era Vitrolite, and choice seating is offered beneath hooded Belvedere hair dryers. Nostalgia is served with a sense of humor here. The beauty shop flashback comes complete with original mint green wash basins filling in as sinks behind the hand built bar, made of tiger maple wood. The terrazzo floor is original. Glass brick stalls serve as intimate booths. Mixed with the retro renderings are modern touches such as hand-blown art-glass lights, and glamorous copper and silver-leaf walls. At this offbeat restaurant, the décor pays homage to the space's beauty parlor past, while the food offers flavors from around the globe.
