We visited east memphis branch in march, 2017..Had breakfast here reading all the excellent reviews..I have to say the experience was average..very busy place with long wait..It is charming inside, reasonable service but the breakfast wasn't particularly tasty..price appeared to be high.. Won't hurt if you miss this place, if you are on a short visit.

My husband and I were visiting Memphis in celebration of our 34th anniversary. Prior to our trip, I had done some research as to the best places to eat and this one popped up as having amazing breakfasts so we made it a point to visit. We loved our first breakfast there (their biscuits & gravy were amazing, awesome, delicious,... More

In a tourist city like this you might think it difficult to find a good breakfast at a value. Take the time one morning to seek out the Blue Plate Cafe. It's worth it. Nothing special, just good eating.

Homey, good food, reasonable portions, great waitress, four different breakfast items, all fresh and good. Homemade biscuits and gravy as free appetizer was really nice touch.

Good meat and potato/veggie lunch, breakfast any time, drinks are kept full, and staff is friendly. Each day offers a different special.

Wow! I had the country fried chicken with white gravy, fried okra and black eyed peas. Incredible. Best fried chicken I've had in Memphis.

A friend and I visited and ate lunch at the Blue Plate Cafe, yesterday. Service was pleasant and good. We ordered fried shrimp, fried chicken and fried catfish with all the "fixin's". The food was plentiful and tasty, although probably not good for our cholesterol. We will return. We hadn't been there in a few years, but the quality and... More

I was introduced to the BPC many years ago by a native Memphian. As a result it is always a stop on at least one morning on any trip to Memphis. Sadly, this time I was really disappointed. The pancakes were tough and tasteless, the omelet was greasy and the gravy on the biscuits was about as bland as gravy... More

The service was good and the restaurant was tidy. There was a slight odor when you enter the restaurant. Not sure if it's because of the old wooden floors or something else. The food was okay, but because I cook good breakfast food myself, there was nothing spectacular about it.

Thank Ruby M
