We have just had a trip up to Dolgellau with 12 friends. After reading reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to eat at Y Meirionnydd one night. The food was delicious, service brilliant. Would definitely recommend.

Great meal in a relaxed environment. Excellent service and superb food. Only had a main and pud but it was more than enough and I was even offered extra cheese with my cheese board! Highly recommended.

One of our two nights eating out during our week in Dolgellau. Food very nice and well presented, although a couple of components weren't available. Very solicitous service!

We tried this place at random whilst staying locally and it proved to be an excellent choice. Very friendly staff, good drinks selection and great food. If you are there on a Friday try the posh fish and chips - superb.

What a gem! Book early...this has to be one of the best restaurants in Wales! Wonderfully friendly, professional, service. Great atmosphere. Sumptuous and intimate. Small but perfectly executed menu. Great wines . Worth the 2 .5 hour drive!

Description
Y Meirionnydd Townhouse is a great restaurant and bar in the centre of Dolgellau. What was the original old County jailhouse has been skilfully converted into a contemporary, stylish and yet cosy restaurant serving traditional British dishes with a Welsh twist using mostly local produce. The ground floor bar is a great place to unwind and relax with a drink or light meal. Booking is essential, please check for opening times. Please note we are unable to cater for children under 8 years old.
