We dined here as visitors only since we were staying at another hotel in Bull Bay, so I can only report on meals taken in The Sail Loft rather than downstairs. Service from the outset was nothing short of what would be expected from fine...More

My better half and I went for a pre-birthday (mine!) lunch at the Coach restaurant. Had never been there before but will definitely be paying a return visit. Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere, pieasant, helpful staff and tasty, well-presented food. What more could you ask for?

I stay here at least once a year, usually after Christmas. Until this year I have stayed in the Townhouse, modern, quirky rooms - no complaints. This year I stayed in the hotel itself and again I had no complaints about the rooms except the...More

Every year we go to the upstairs restaurant, now called The Loft, for our Anniversary dinner. We were in trepidation this year as last year we had been disappointed by a menu that didn’t deliver anything we wanted to eat. But this time, all was well....More

The Coach restaurant at the Bull. Very poor service, slow, inattentive, needed to request table water several times. Food was also poor. Steak looked pale and inspid. Very disappointing especially at the price. Chips greasy and unappetising.

Had a meal with three friends on Friday night and the food was lovely. The inn itself also has a great atmosphere and is the perfect place for a cosy evening meal in the winter. Would highly recommend.

I love the fact that Dickens stayed here. I love its olde worlde ambience. I like the roaring fire with its wooden seats on either side. A real scorcher! The ancient ducking stool seat for "gobby women" is a sharp reminder of how far we've...More

Arrived Saturday night to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Our table had been booked the day before. Upon arrival we were told that no such booking was recorded and we were told after much fiddling about and staring at computer screens that they were full and...More

We could not fault the food and service. Everything we had was beautifully cooked and came quickly. When we asked for Dijon mustard with the steak and yoghourt with the vegetarian thali it came. There were roaring fires in several rooms. We loved the decor...More

Yes, we welcome dogs in specific bedrooms in the Bull but not the Townhouse. In the public areas of the hotel dogs are only allowed in the bar. If you wish any further clarification please do not hesitate to ring us. Thank... More
