We popped in here for tea. First impressions were cluttered tables. It was quiet so I didn't have any problems with ordering the food. I had the fish and chips. I have never tasted anything in a restaurant that was so awful. It had obviously been in the fryer for to long. The fish was like rubber, of what fish... More

Usually Wetherspoons are a bit basic but this one has been improved and is lovely. We are here twice while on a weekend away at the Manorhaus, the food was lovely, the first table we sat at was in the part decorated with barrels, it was quite cold in this area and I don't really like being cold when I... This is a good place to hang out.The choice of food is wide-ranging as is the beer but the service at the bar is slow, often. It seems to take an age to get served sometimes but the food service is quick and the eggs Benedict for breakfast is usually fabulous.

Very nice 👍 hotel friendly staff couldn't get room until 2 pm but nice town to walk around bit hilly but all the same nice town. Their is a castle to explore an old town goel and stunning scenery to look at 👌👌👌

Popped here for lunch with friends on our way to a weekend cottage. It's a lovely old building (one of the friends I was with worked here many years ago before it was a Wetherspoons) Although part of the Wetherspoons chain this still retained its charm, with lots of lovely nooks and crannies. the fish and chips with mushy peas... As far as Wetherspoons this is one of the best I've been in burger chips and a pint £7 where can you beat that?

The castle hotel is part of the Weatherspoon chain and as such tends to be quite noisy and busy but serves good priced pub food off putting is people hanging around outside smoking and being a small town smokers were calling across the town square to people they knew passing in cars or on foot or using the cash machines... Had a lunchtime meal and drinks with friends. The food was delivered fairly quickly, was well cooked and all tasted great. I had the lamb shank for £9.99 which included a drink, couldn't fault it. Great drinks selection and everything is well priced as you would expect from a Wetherspoons pub. We didn't get round to the deserts 🤔 maybe... More
