We have recently moved to the area and are delighted to have this brilliant place within striking distance. We have already taken a number of family and friends there and everyone absolutely loves the delicious home cooked curries (beautifully presented with nans, poppadums, rice) and comments on the friendly welcome we always receive. I'm not sure these curries could be beaten.... More

We travelled some thirty miles on the strength of reviews we had read. The landlord gave us a warm welcome and we installed ourselves in a nook of the pub that had three tables and a wood burner. There were other tables along towards the bar; the public bar had more tables and a pool table. The food is served... More

After a long day out walking on nearby hills, 9 of us arrived at Red Lion, cold and wet to a lovely warm welcome. There were 2 log fires and a great menu including a very comprehensive range of curries all home cooked on the premises, The food was well presented and served very efficiently. More traditional food was also... More

Lovely local pub with loads of atmosphere and friendly locals. Food really good especially the curry night on a Thursday when you can get curry and pine/wine for £6.95

Just popped in for a lunchtime sandwich and pint on a mountain biking circuit, but this place comes across as a real asset to its little community. The local Facer's beer was very well kept and the Indian Food events look very tempting for a re-visit.

We went on a walk based around Cyffylliog we'd found in a book. Seeking refreshment afterwards we used the Red Lion. The Singhs made us very welcome. I had the best pints of Marstons Pedigree and Bitter that I'd tasted in a long time. I had pork saag and my wife had a lovely homemade samosa. Excellent value. I hope... More

We hit upon the Red Lion by absolute chance on Sunday lunchtime. We enjoyed the Fantastic Clogwyn Gold beer then thought we would have a sandwich. My husband couldn't believe his luck when there were no sandwichs but spotted the Asian Platter for 2. This was 2 types of fabulous homemade samosas and sheesh kebabs plus spring rolls. All homemade,... More

Try this good local pub. Excellent food at a decent price. You have to try the Indian food platter. All cooked on site and no packet stuff.
