Had the most fantastic Sunday here. The staff are absolutely excellent. And cater to all your needs. Everything is clean and the food is fresh Nothing better than a traditional old country pub carvery will definitely be going again. Sam and olly

I can’t fault either the food or the welcome at the Castle Green restaurant. We were greeted warmly and offered drinks while we sorted out the Track ‘n Trace formalities, and then shown to our table. We had pre-ordered our food by email the night...before so everything was ready and piping hot when it was served. The waitress was delightful, offering condiments & sauces with cheer and good humour. As I said earlier, the food was faultless - my son and I had the Sirloin Steak (cooked exactly as ordered), my wife the Sirloin Beef Stroganoff and my daughter the Chicken in Cracked Black Pepper Sauce. All of it delicious with plenty of veg and chips (look out for the stuffed cabbage - fantastic). I personally had the most delicious Vanilla Cheesecake for dessert; best I’ve had in years. All in all a very pleasant evening’s dining and we’ll never forget Mavis - what a host.More

We were staying for a couple of nights in the area and found the pub / restaurant on trip advisor. We received a very welcoming reception on arrival, got some drinks in the bar and moved into the restaurant when our food was ready. Food...was traditional pub food and very enjoyable, good portions and value Use the side door for entry (covid one way system) and note that it is cash only. Very tourist friendly. Enjoy!More

Absolutely amazing food and lovely staff, you'll go a long way to beat the food and welcome you get here. Lots of selection for your Sunday lunch and the desserts are delicious as well as everything being very reasonably priced. Myself and family are in...the area a few times a year and a visit is always part of our plans. If I could mark higher I would. Back there this Sunday and we can't wait! 😊More

My husband and I called for Sunday lunch at this lovely old pub, as it had been recommended to us .We were met by a lovely landlady called Mavis, who showed us to our table in the dining room, full of rustic charm and very clean....Food was served as a carvery and adhered to all current covid safety measures.Lunch was fabulous, plenty of meat and fresh vegetable choice and served in abundance with loads of proper tasty gravy. The best eat out Sunday lunch we’ve had to date and look forward to calling again soon.Highly recommendedMore

Today was the first time Mum (82) agreed to go out for Sunday lunch since lockdown and she chose to go to the Castell on the Green. As always, Mavis, Bryan and their team ticked all the boxes. We got a lovely warm welcome and...nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed three very generous Sunday roasts from the carvery and two desserts (one was shared between two, because of the large portions). The bar and restaurant was homely and clean, and the food was fresh, homemade, perfectly cooked & perfectly presented. Oh yes!, and all Covid requirements were followed to the letter but it still felt homely and relaxed.... We all came away very happy and will definitely return very soon.More

We visited the Castle Green Inn for a carvery today upon recommendation. It's one of the best Sunday lunches we've had! We had a lovely warm friendly welcome from the owners (Mavis & Bryan) and all the staff. The dining area is lovely, clean and...well spaced out. The food is outstanding and excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back.More
