We were invited by our friends Jean and Keith who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and Jean's ?? birthday for a Sunday lunch. It was not over busy when we got there and I understand there were new tenants at the place. The Lady in charge was polite and acceptable, but I an afraid the food was not up... More

Stopped off for lunch, lovely hosts and the food was pretty good, more just good pub food than gastro, but warm and friendly and good if you are passing through

An inviting white facade welcomes visitors traveling on this main road,I has stopped on my way back from the coast and was starving for a good lunch, quaint bar and seating areas, some historical data hung on the walls and a nice daily menu or sandwiches.I chose to have a pint of the local brew suggested by the manager behind the bar... Would highly recommend the home cooked food and excellent double fried chips/local steak. It's a quiet little place which was to our liking. (And desserts were only £3.50)!

Stopped on spec; and so glad we did. Very good Sunday lunch. I'm a vegetarian and was delighted to see nut roast on the menu and it was excellent. Very good value as well - £6.95 for main course, £10 for 2 courses (for Sunday lunch).

We haven't been here for well over a year but have found that it is even better than our last visit which was good. Nice and cosy atmosphere with excellent 2 course Sunday lunch for £10. Good service and very tasty food. Will definitely go back.

We have had Sunday lunch at the Hundred House a few times and it has always been very good. It is very well cooked and presented with lots of fresh vegetables. It is excellent value for money at £10 for 2 courses. The sweets are delicious. My only criticism is that during the quieter periods they could do with some... More

On several occasions, including Christmas Eve, I have eaten here. It's a lovely country pub, with good food and drink. Lovely character with the old features of the building on display. The menu is great with big portions but cheap considering the quality. Very few of the main courses are over £10. Every time I have been there the wood... More

Am writing this an hour after eating there! Fantastic! Don't think we shall eat again today! Cosy rooms, with comfortable seating. Olde worlde feel, partly created as you leave the car and smell wood smoke and chips cooking! Were told we could sit where ever we liked, so sat at a window table, with lovely view over the valley and... More

Constructed during 1524 using local Radnor stone and under the reign of King Henry VIII, The Hundred House was built for use as the first formal Radnorshire Court House and obtained its name due to it serving initially 100 families and then 100 towns, villages and hamlets in the county. Judges ruled over civil and criminal cases for 350 years until the 1870’s when the Courts were transferred to the larger local town of Presteigne and the redundant Tudor/Medieval property was converted for use as a public house.
Having been acquired by the Jones family in 2015, following a £500’000 investment (during which the property was also extended with traditional Oak Framed materials and construction methods) the restored/renovated/extended property reopened for business in April 2017. The original court house is now a family home for Mr & Mrs Jones and their 3 sons, and the Free House (The Hundred House Inn & Gourmet Pie Kitchen) occupies the site of the Barn & Stables that was built to serve the Judges, Legal Officers & members of the public whilst visiting the courts.
