We have been lucky enough to visit the restaurant several times before Covid struck and it has quickly become our favourite restaurant of the whole family, the food is simply outstanding authentic American BBQ. So so many great dishes to choose from but the Nashville...chicken on waffles is true taste explosion and the Brisket and Memphis ribs smoked to perfection by a team who have really learnt the art of smoking and BBQ. During lockdown we have also had several ( ok way to many) heat at home take aways. So much thought has gone into the prep and serving of the food and it really does show! The food is just as incredible at home as it in the restaurant. One last word..desert, when eating at the restaurant you WILL be full to burst , but you must try the warm pecan pie! Stunning. The kids would also like it to be known that one of there most favourite things to eat in the entire world is a S’more however full they are they always manages some how to find room. Can’t wait for when once again we can eat in and soak up that amazing atmosphere provided by Shauna, Sam and the team .More

We were looking for something different during the ongoing lockdown and was not disappointed with the Heat at Home range, we had most of the menu and all of it was fantastic flavors, high quality meat and excellent sides. All portions were a really good...size. We had so much food! Really easy to reheat at home and great because you could do it at a time that suited you. Definitely would recommendMore

We had the Big BBQ deal tonight and it was amazing! I uave to be honest, when we collected it, I didn't think there was much food for 4 people but once it was cooked and served, there was loads! Loads of beautiful meats and...there were plenty of sides too! So tasty! Would definitely order again!More

We ordered 3 mains and 4 sides from the heat at home menu and it was so much food! It lasted 3 of us two dinners. It was all very tasty but the macaroni cheese, brisket and beans were stand outs.

Managed to get a table, last minute booking online for a Wednesday night. Service was excellent, very attentive staff, but you expect nothing more from staff (and people in general) from the friendliest parts of the world ( South Wales) Our drinks were very reasonably...priced, Beer was an excellent match for the bbq food as too wine ( Melot ) all three of us ordered similar, wings to start, I have to say I was left disappointed by the hot wings, not plump or fall off the bone as I was anticipating, it felt they had jumped out of the fridge into the fryer and coated a cold sauce, at this point I wondered if we had made a grave mistake in booking this restaurant, however, once our main course arrived, ribs, brisket & pulled pork, my worries were laid to rest. I have eaten and prepared lots of bbq food in my time, but the ribs had the most lovely firm bark with the fall off the bone meat, the best I have ever had, the brisket, OMG, how do you keep the moisture (fat) into the meat, spectacular, the pulled pork again was excellent, all the meats are cooked so precisely, it was serious impressive, and I’m hard to please! I look forward visiting when I return to the vale.More

After hearing the hype around this restaurant for years, we were exciting to see a table available at such short notice and booked us ASAP. Arriving was easy and pleasant, a lot of covid safety measures in place but this was where the pleasant experience...ended. We were served by Lucy and from the moment we sat down, her attitude was horrendous. She was short and snappy with us, you could even go as far as saying aggressive. She chirped up at the end of our meal when collecting our plates, but as soon as we declined looking at the dessert menu, she shifted back to the short and aggressive nature. This is something you definitely wouldn’t expected from such a highly regarded restaurant! Asking to pay separately took the attitude further and she didn’t even apologise when she almost over charged one of us, only after we added up their costs did she drop it with the number she was adamant was correct. Lucy certainly isn’t the type of front of house staff that gives a positive experience to customers. As for the food, it was sub par. I personally wouldn’t say it was worth all of the hype it’s given. The best part of the meal was my starter, frickles. It was the only part about the whole visit I would recommend. I doubt I’ll be visiting this restaurant again, I’ve had a more pleasant experience at the local McDonalds. Rude staff and overhyped. No thanks.More

We were lucky to visit Hangfire again recently - and were overwhelmed by the warm welcome , food and ambience. A truly brilliant , enjoyable and memorable evening and experience. The staff were great - friendly , very helpful , efficient and professional. The food...and drinks menus were excellent and sufficiently varied to suit most tastes / requirements. The food was very well sourced , prepared and presented - this applied to all three wonderful courses. Covid rules and regulations were in place - and we felt exceptionally safe , and very well looked after. There was a unique warm atmosphere - with all tables occupied (not bad for a Wednesday !) , and quite a pleasant buzz. Thank you all for a lovely , pleasant and extremely enjoyable evening . We will be back. Steve and Jenny.More

Sixth time of visiting Hangfire and never fails to disappoint. First time as family of 3 with a 4 week old and we were made to feel very welcome from start to finish. At the time of booking I let them know the baby would...be with us and upon arrival we were given a table with room for the pram and private enough to feed the baby without feeling like I was on show, as a first time mum this made me feel very comfortable and very welcome. The waitress was very happy and service was excellent. Starter we had maple bourbon pecan wings, mains was a yard bird and southern fried chicken burger all very tasty and fancied something different as normally have the Beef brisket and burnt ends which is always good so was pleased with our choice this time round. The wings especially were to die for! Will be back again soon and continue to recommend to our friends and family. Thank youMore
