A lovely experience, going to 21 at Double Bay. The food, atmosphere and service and all excellent. I had a vegetarian dish, and was pleased with it.

Just arrived in Double Bay after long interstate flight and stopped her for late lunch. Staff were friendly and fast and had drinks to the table promptly. Our meals were great and I can recommend the Haloumi with Watermelon, great flavours and cooked to perfection. Great vaue for money!

This restaurant has been here for many years. It caters for a core customer base of Hungarian Jewish people amongst other locals. They tend to eat early, and the place can be fairly full at 6.30. The menu features Hungarian dishes and fish and steak. This is not fine dining and does not pretend to be. Just a solid meal... More

Small place, but the food is fabulous, with Hungarian notes. The schnitzels are great, but so are all the dishes. The cream spinach is to die for!

This is an icon restaurant in the heart of Double Bay. Everyone in there (including staff) are on the wrong side of 50. Makes it adorable and quirky. Same meals have been served there for 100 years (jokes). Best pancakes and lemon ever eaten👉🏿 seriously. Cream cheese pancake is amazing. Friends loves garlic prawns which are not light on garlic.... If you are intending to dine with family on a Friday night then be sure to call for a reservation as Grill 21 gets very busy. Sunday lunch is very busy too. However the staff will do their best to accommodate you and tables turnover quickly. All generations of your family are welcomed with respect by the professional staff. This... More

Been coming here since I was a kid, and the menu and feel of the place hasn't changed. The food is still great - Hungarian/European style and there's something for everyone. Their schnitzel and creamed spinach are legendary and my favourite dessert is their "gundel" pancake made with a ground walnut and rum filling and topped with dark chocolate sauce.... More

Description
Twenty One (21) Espresso is one of Australia's oldest restaurants, founded in 1958 by John Schiffer - Father and Grandfather to the restaurant's current owners George and Michael. Twenty One was the first restaurant to introduce European style dining to Australia in the form of outdoor seating and also had one of the very first espresso machines - hence the inclusion in the restaurant name.

Today, you can find traditional Hungarian and European dishes on the menu, whilst dining in a comfortable and cosy setting with warm and attentive service. The restaurant is open all day every day, should you feel like just popping in for a coffee and cake and to soak in the atmosphere.
