Great draught Czech & Eastern European beers and Wonderful food to match. Good portions at reasonable prices and GREAT value for money daily special each week day. We particularly love the Schnitzels, pork knuckels and the breads. BYO or fully licenced. We have been coming here for at least FIFTEEN years. We love it.

Food here tends to be on the heavy side - picture a Czech restaurant or a Bavarian beer hall (for the menu not the ambience). If you're very hungry and need a solid loading of carbs and fat then you're all set here.

The schnitzels, ribs and beers are first class. I see reviewers complain about the service and ambience but the service is discreet and the decor/ambience are redolent of a quieter beer cafe. If you expect that then you will not be disappointed. Too bad they are no longer in the Entertainment Book, but the value is still good.

I haven't been here for some time now and was looking forward to a really nice meal. I'm sorry to say that not only was the service all over the place, the food was very average. Both the pork Shank and Pork Belly were tuff and not rendered enough. It wasn't as good as I remembered.

This place is awesome, it's impossible to leave hungry. We dare you to try to finish the pork knuckle. The beers are equally awesome with lots of Czech and German options - definitely leave the car at home.

Took some international business guests here for dinner on a Thursday night, & was very disappointed to be honest. The ambience & service was pretty bad, I would at least expect a beer cafe to be quick about taking a drink order - we all sat around looking at each other, pouring ourselves a water, a bit embarrassing really! We... More

Very good quality food and has always been consistent for a number of years - this is not a fine dining restaurant and it doesn't need to be (so don't go there looking for your napkin to be thrown over your lap when you sit down). I wouldn't overlook this place for a big business lunch as it is has... More

Great food, beer and staff! I had the pork nuckle which was great. Great beer selection and was of a high standard. Looking forward to going back again sometime.

Pork knuckle, pretzels and tap beer, need I say more. This place has a nice casual environment with friendly service. Worth a try.

My partner wanted to try German food in this area and found this place which isn't too far from St Leonard's train station. The place is very casual, reminds me almost of a pub. We ordered the platter for two and it had pork knuckle, pork belly, sausages, veal schnitzel, red and white cabbage on a bed of mash potatoes.... More
