Aah, how fortunate. Upon returning to my old home town the time was ripe to "eat out". We ventured to the Ironbark Tavern (love the name) and yes, it was Thai night. I couldn't envisage this sort of fare being served up all those years ago, but hey, the old home town's not the same and I was more than... More

Visiting relatives from Brisbane meant dining out and as luck would have it - it was Thai night! The food was excellent (again) and the drinks were very cold. The service was great and we all thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Then on another night on the same trip our guests insisted on another Thai experience at the Ironbark and... More

One of the old buildings in this former gold mining town of the 1800's it has been renovated to provide warmth, charm and excellent hospitality. A crackling log fire and comfy sofas if you just want a drink, or lovely innovative dining area for some great food. The menu is not extensive, but try the "chefs specials" and you will... More

Ironbark Tavern have an interesting concept - half the week dinner menu is Thai food and the other half is usual pub fare. We were there on a Thai night and not being particularly familiar with Thai food had a few questions. Staff were very helpful with their recommendations. Serving sizes were very generous. Plenty of customers on the night... More

The tavern transports you to a place of calm. Sitting on the bar stools in front of the large windows overlooking the main street is very relaxing. You can grab a beer, a coffee, and a feed from the very friendly staff and enjoy being alive. there is a lovely big wood fire when the weather turns cool, or slow... More

We stopped overnight on our way through to Melbourne. The people in the caravan park pointed us to the Ironbark Tavern, and what a gem it is. Raelene had lamb cutlets which she loved, and I had rolled shoulder of lamb which had been slow cooked for 5 hours. It was brilliant, and with a bottle of local Shiraz we... More

On our trip to Chiltern my wife and I were looking for somewhere a little different to the normal for lunch, and happened across the Ironbark Tavern. We had a scrumptious meal and some cold drinks, with tea and coffee also available. Carmen and Steve made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It has cosy feel... More

We stay in Chiltern 2 to 3 times per year and for the girst timr the Ironbark Tavern was open. What a surprise. It was early in the week so we had the Aussie menu. We were both delighted with our meals. The staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful. There is also a micro brew on tap. A great reason... More

Amazing Thai, been here a few times when visiting the family and have always had a great Thai feed! Service is friendly and fun. There is a wait sometimes for the food, but it is well worth it! Give it ago.
