Amazing produce, flavours and textures. The staff know their stuff and the whole ambiance was fantastic. Recommended to tick off your bucket list

We had been at the Port Fairy music festival and were spending an extra eek in the area. Friends had recommended this restaurant. We had a fabulous lunch in the bistro. Extremely good value for the set menu. Really imaginative food and a great wine list. The service was exceptional. We got to talking to one of the waiters about... More

We had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and it surpassed our expectations. We were confident that the food would be good but didn't really expect the "fine dining package" that we experienced in such a small village. The decor, ambience and service standards were of a level we would expect in a good capital city restaurant... More

We have been fortunate to have eaten here several times. The food has always been outstanding but the service has not matched the food experience. Not anymore. We chose the 5 course degustation but without matching wines and all dishes were beautifully presented, tasted exceptional and contained some interesting elements. It was such a relief that the service was just... More

I was really looking forward to dining here but the experience has left me feeling a little flat. Without doubt the food looked pretty on the plate but the flavours didn't blow my mind and the waiter pronouncing everything in an Italian accent (note - he wasn't Italian) was kind of irritating - and particularly patronising when he was correcting... Stayed the night and had the tasting menu, food was really good as usual, they use a lot from their impressive kitchen garden, the menu was pretty heavy on carrot as i assume that is what was in abundance at the time. The only downer for me was the waiter, we had matching wines and every time he came to... More

In the area for business and stayed for the food! We opted for the 8 course degustation which in reality was an 11 course feast - 3 starter dishes "from the kitchen" that didn't even count. They were great, especially the smoked eel - this should be added as a real course in itself! The degustation was an experience -... More

Dropped in on the way home from some of the wineries in the Coonawarra and enjoyed an excellent meal. The set menu offered 3 courses and a glass of wine for $50 which was great value for the quality of the meal. The service was terrific. I hope to visit again.

We had been looking forward to dining at the Royal Mail for quite some time. Having recently eaten at Attica we were looking forward to the experience and comparing. The Royal Mail was just as good if not better in some areas. We chose the 8 course degustation with matching wines. We had originally planned to start with a glass... More

We were here for three days and enjoyed the best food of my life. The produce was fresh and tasty and each dish was beautifully presented. Deserts were spectacular taste sensations and after dinner cheese platters were varied and contained a different interesting cheeses each day. This experience was wonderful and well worthwhile. I will be returning here on my... More
