Really good quality food, exellent at managing a large group and hungry children. The papertable cloths and crayons kept the kids amused during dinner. Food is excellent and a good quality range of wine.
On the recommendation of the owners of the delightful BnB we were staying in, we dined here one Saturday evening recently. Two requests for water from two different wait staff saw it finally arrive fifteen minutes later. We also then waited for our food order...to be taken, again by a different wait staff person. It seems the four staff on the floor juggle all jobs- taking orders, serving food, clearing tables, behind the bar! This wasn’t the only inconsistency. One meal was very substantial, mine much less so. Only three vegetarian options for my son, from a menu with over thirty options, including six specials. My partner did enjoy the prawns as an entree, but his steak was seriously undercooked in parts. My pork ribs were mostly tender and moist, but about a quarter of it was dry and stringy. Yes, inconsistent indeed. It feels like a pub menu with restaurant prices!More
Very friendly staff, delicious food, perfect for takeaway after a hard day walking up Mt Buller summit and wanting to relax back at our holiday cottage. I had the Parma with veggies and scalloped potatoes
Frindly welcoming staff, seemed to be good systems to keep food & service on track on this busy night. My spaghetti Marinara was pretty tasty & well priced for the dish, the veal snitzels my husband ordered as a special of the night $34 was...disappointing, deepfried too long & very small accompanying veg & salad. In general a good basic place for dinner in Mansfield though.More
Dinner at the Old Fire station was very pleasant. Bruschetta as an entree was delicious followed by spaghetti marinara for me and a steak for my partner. Meals were well portioned and produce appeared to be fresh. There was a nice vibe in...the restaurant and staff were very friendly.More
We ate at the Old Fire Station last night and could not fault a thing.
Great food, very friendly service (thanks Sam), an inviting ambience and the prices were very reasonable.
We had the pork belly bits and the calamari for entrees and followed up...with two specials, the veal schnitzel and the duck risotto. All were excellent and there were plenty of other items on the menu that tempted us. No room for dessert as the servings are “generous”.
Definitely worth a return visit.More
We were in Mansfield for a week's stay. We visited and looked at lots of restaurants, but we were looking for something special to celebrate our anniversary and we certainly found it in the Old Fire Station restaurant. We chose well! The menu was interesting...and delicious, with a good wine selection. The service was first class and the atmosphere in this quaint little restaurant was unique, with arty decorations. We had a lovely evening and we would recommend highly.More
