We went here because they took late reservations and did not regret coming. The service was attentive and courteous. When a wine we wanted was not on the wine list, the Sommelier selected an excellent replacement that was also a surprisingly good value. The food served was pretty good, no complaints, but not very memorable except for the pork appetizer... More

Coonara Springs is a great place to go for a romatic meal or cosy lunch in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. The menu is restrained with something for everyone using fresh seasonal ingredients, the lamb was the best I've had in a long time!

Visited twice on a Wednesday 'Bistro Day'. Did know in advance what was being served and were also informed when we booked. Highly professional service and incredible food at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back.

We dined at Coonara Springs three times over the Easter break and each time the restaurant did not disappoint on either service or food quality. Each experience was different as we were treated to Bistro Day (set menu), A la carte selection and a Degustation menu so we were able to sample a wide variety of the amazing food offerings.... We visited Coonara Springs whilst staying with family in the local area. From arrival we were made to feel very welcome, the atmosphere was perfect, the service was attentive and the food was delicious. Ideal for a romantic dinner for two but it would also be the perfect venue for an intimate wedding or celebration. Already looking forward to making... More

From the moment the lovely Oliver opened the door as we entered this stunning restaurant our wedding anniversary dinner was a beautiful memorable evening filled with magnificent food, lovely garden view & up with the best service we've ever received. Our entrees of goats cheese soufflé was beautifully matched with a pesto sauce & the pork belly beautifully moist. Our... More

I brought two colleagues together for a business meeting at Coonara Springs in January. It was great ... again. The staff are just so engaged and knowledgeable they made it easy to enjoy the venue without intruding. I'd like to see more vegetarian items on the menu, but the seasonality of the food was wonderful. We met the chef as... More

When we went there outside the entrance we saw the menu for the night which said Set menu like a banquet and the price seemed a little high for what we had budgeted. While we were thinking of going to another place we were greeted at the gate by one of the waitresses. We asked if we could order a... More

What more could you ask for? A pleasant walk through an immaculate garden, a warm welcome into a sensitively renovated cottage and everyone on the staff happy. That lead to an impressive selection of food and wine all prepared to perfection and accompanied by selections of herbs and salad leaves picked fresh from the garden. Every dish was flawlessly presented... More

We have lived in the hills for over 25 years and well remember the olds Coonara Springs and certainly welcome the successful renovation. When making the reservation for 6 people on bistro night, we mentioned that there were 2 birthdays. Food was supposed to be of a German theme. There were 2 Germans amongst the guests. Wiener sausages, served with... More

HI Charles, Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We have updated our bistro menu, which now excludes wine - however, we are glad that our staff were still able to honour the complimentary wine. We do usually recognise birthdays and special occasions, and we apologise for missing this. Your experience matters to us, so we would like to... More

Description
A destination restaurant set in seven acres of landscaped gardens with views over the Yarra Valley. Modern Australian food with a hint of nostalgia from the past. The 90 year old weatherboard property has recently been restored, celebrating its glorious history of entertaining since the 1920's. Enjoy the light filled restaurant floor overlooking the gardens, the lounge rooms next to open fires in winter or the private dining room for special events and weddings. Adrian the chef prides himself on both growing and making, follow a produce to plate philosophy, tending his veggies in our extensive growing areas which guests can walk around. Don't forget a visit to the spring if you feel like a longer walk, and book our outdoor dining tables during the summer months. Enjoy locally sourced wines, home made breads, butters and ice-cream! Amanda or one of our team look forward to welcoming you to Coonara Springs.
