Five Daughters Bakery offers delicious doughnut options. Some would barely be considered doughnuts, which is why this shop is a great choice for people like me who don't care for basic Krispy Kremes. Try the Orange Quinnamon for a treat you won't find anywhere else.
There are always a few gluten free and vegan varieties, which can be hard to find in the wild.
While they are produced in various sizes, be forewarned that these baked goods are not inexpensive. At $4.00 each, the tab adds up quickly for a family. Of course, given their high quality and relatively small batches, the price is easy to understand. And if you go early enough, there are day old items available at the register.
However, the bakery's cookies should be avoided at any price. They are typically salty no matter what the listed flavor.
The bakery does close early when their stock is depleted, or simply when evening business is slow. So if you are counting on Five Daughters Bakery for dessert after dinner, you might want to go earlier and exercise great willpower.

Is there really any better way to celebrate National Donut Day in June than to eat what is surely the best doughnut in the United States of America right here in our own backyard? Even better, I got to support a local business during the very pandemic that has hampered their ability to succeed.
So, why wouldn’t you go to Five Daughters? They’re ranked on the list of Top 10 best donuts in America, they make every cronut with utmost quality and those 100 impossibly-decadent layers of croissant-like goodness, and the balance between flavor, frosting, and accoutrements is impeccable! I’m eating one as I type this, and I can hardly concentrate on this review! Oh my gosh I can’t concentrate!
I ordered one of their maple glazed cronuts because it’s my favorite. And I didn’t really think any other flavor would ever compare, despite many amazing options. But today, on a whim, I tried their butter pecan cronut after I inhaled its maple cousin. MY GOODNESS! I think we have a tie! This is blowing my mind!
Imagine this flaky, chewy, monstrously tall donut with a salty caramel-like frosting and sugary pecans dancing on top. It’s just a masterpiece, and it tastes every bit as good as it looks!
It was very easy to order online, call when I pulled up, and receive a box of sweet goodness at my car within 10 seconds of arriving. So easy, so efficient, and so breathtakingly delicious! Thank you for making my Donut Day perfection!

My husband and I were walking around in East Nashville (where we stayed during our trip) after stopping for drinks at Southern Grist Brewing Company (also highly recommend) and I realized how close we were to Five Daughters. I'd read about the bakery prior to our trip and the reviews were great so we decided to stop.
We ordered three doughnuts to share - triple raspberry, salted caramel apple, and milk chocolate with sprinkles. All three were absolutely incredible! The raspberry glaze was sweet, a little tart and packed with fresh raspberry flavor. The milk chocolate with sprinkles was a fabulous representation of a doughnut classic and the salted caramel apple tasted like a salty, sweet mouthful of the best flavors of Fall. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!

my son and I got up an hour and a half early to drive here before school to get donuts for him and his class. We arrived at 7:30, and Most the cases were empty, but they had half a dozen racks full of donuts behind the counter. So even though there weren’t any chocolate sprinkle donuts in the case, my son asked for one anyway, her response was there aren’t any, as she pointed at the case. He was extremely bummed out, but decided he would settle on a purist, but he can never finish a whole one, so I asked her if she could cut it in half, and her response was we have plastic silverware behind you. I then explained to her that I would need all the donuts that I was ordering cut in half, you asked if she had a knife behind the counter. She said no I can’t do that. It seems to me, that this would be a simple request, but she was not willing to do anything by way of customer service, and as we walked out, we got a snarky have a nice day.

We arrived around 2pm. They had a very limited selection. I was shocked by the prices. 4 cronuts (donuts made like croissants) were $23. They were light and not too sweet. In the end my daughter threw hers away. She didn’t like them. Waste. The associate was kind and helpful and recommended the taco place in the factory for lunch. I’m glad to say I’ve been there, but would not go back.

Went tonight around 7:30 (they close at 10) had only 5 different donuts, so we thought we’d give them all a try since this was our first time going. The only reason why I give them more than 1 star is that they’re “100 layer” donut was AMAZING. The other regular donuts were the WORST tasting donuts I’ve ever had. I understand that it was later in the night, but do not advertise that you are open till 10 when you do not have fresh donuts at 7:30

When in a new town, I like to hit what the locals think is the best donut place, buy a half dozen, take a bite from each, and then finish the one I like best. This place came highly recommended online. We bought nearly a dozen to try among the 4 of us (pricey at $56 w/ tip). They were clearly very good donuts. Not in my top 10 nationwide, but better than many I've had over the years. They're very heavy owing to the baking process (layered like a croissant, but in donut form with fillings). I liked the triple raspberry one the best, but really couldn't finish (since I was nibbling from over a half dozen). My wife, who will voraciously compete to eat my(!) donuts if they're the absolute best instead stopped after sampling a few. Our two friends with us, who aren't exactly donut-philes like me, also let them go. YMMV, but I like to save my waistline for those "worth the calories" as Prue would say. These fell in the "glad I tried 'em" category, but that's about it.

Five Daughters Bakery is as good as we hoped, plus some. Our group of four came here on the recommendation of an Uber driver. Plus, I had seen the bakery featured on TV (Food Network, I think). They have a large variety of donuts and we couldn't resist ordering a dozen. Each donut was better than the next, but we all agreed, our favorite was the vanilla cream. It was buttery, sweet (not overly) and just melts in your mouth. We loved them so much, we even ate them for breakfast the next morning.
If you love donuts, don't miss Five Daughters!

These are unique and delicious donuts. We liked all of the interesting flavors to choose from. The dough was soft and flaky and I liked the sugar crystals sprinkled on the dough. I had a fruit one with a cream filling and my son had a chocolate milkshake donut. We recommend it if you are in the area.

Out go to place for nice pastry / breakfast / bring items for gathering. That have different flavors for each month, and we never get tired of eating there.
Their 100 layer doughnuts are very flaky and I am always able to eat one in one sitting.
One of the best doughnuts.

While visiting Nashville I heard about FDB and knew I had to try them. Woah!!! This is the best doughnut establishment I have EVER had. I love doughnuts and try them wherever my family and I visit. The doughnuts were s soft and flaky, not too sweet but just right. OMG!! The best if they start shipping the doughnuts I will be a lifelong customer but until then I will have to wait until I visit Nashville again.

The donuts at this place are better than Dunkin, better than Krispy Kreme and better than most mom & pop shops.
Their prices; however are exceedingly high which will now cause me to drive on by for other places. For example the maple iced with bacon, the King Kong is now $5.15, there’s a place in Chattanooga for example that has a similar on in the $3 range.
I know inflation has hit us all, but if you consider the percentage increase, it appears this place has significantly increased their prices beyond the inflation index.
I had one of their orange flavored creations, the texture was amazing and the glaze was sweet and sticky; however, there was not even a hint of orange flavor.

OMG! I am not a huge donut lover, but I love these! They are like no other donut I’ve ever had. We bought 12 and cut them in quarters and shared them so we could try a variety. They were all delicious!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Cute little place 10 minutes (car) from downtown. The 100 layer donuts and biscuits sandwiches are amazing. We had the king Kong: Rolled in sugar, infused with vanilla buttercream, topped with maple glaze and candied bacon pieces

Like their website says these 144 layer desserts are more akin to a dessert at a sit down restaurant than a quickly created simple donut. They take 4 days to create and the company aims to use locally source, real ingredients. I would visit again but would likely only get one donut a piece.
