When I realized a whole month had passed since our lovely evening at Ellington's I knew I couldn't let another day pass with making it a priority to say "Thank you for one of the highlights of our Christmas season, and for one of our best dining experiences ever."
My husband, a couple of friends and our daughter were there December 20. The amazing, friendly, solicitous and efficient Cassidy took care of every detail to make our evening unforgettable. We were astonished that the person who had taken our reservation had evidently noted why we were coming to Nashville. Cassidy had all the details and celebrated with us. What excellent customer service on all fronts! We
felt like royalty, or maybe treasured old friends.
Cassidy is a gem and whatever she earns, it cannot not be enough. In addition, the chef &/or kitchen staff made every dish impeccably delicious and presented them beautifully. The whole team must be top-notch. Thank you to each!
We were allowed to linger throughout the evening and never felt rushed. Someone in the kitchen sent us an extra dessert to try, which made us feel even more special. Some of the kitchen staff even personally said good-bye and invited us to return, which we definitely will! Everyone was so sincerely nice!
We live 2 hours away in Paducah, KY but many of our friends are often in Nashville and we are encouraging them to come dine with you.
Yes, the food was amazing too! Thank you for such a memorable evening!

We had a fabulous meal at Ellington’s. We ate on the patio basking in the afternoon sun. We enjoyed the $5 appetizer of whipped goat cheese, then salads and entrees of salmon and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server, Christopher, was attentive, funny and helpful. We had never been to Nashville and felt right at home. Thanks for a lovely dining experience.

On the 4th floor of the Fairlane Hotel and just 2 blocks from TPAC, Ellington's has a full & vibrant bar, an outdoor patio when the weather is good and a nice indoor dining atmosphere. While we enjoyed our meal there more the first time we dined there, the new menu has some hits and misses. Skip the cornish hen. Love the pork chop and the vegetarian pasta dish. Wedge salad is wonderfu....much better than the caesar salad whose lettuce just wasn't crisp enough. Nice cocktails

The decor of the restaurant is interesting, and the crab cake was good.
Can't say too much else good about the experience. First of all, it's a hotel restaurant, and there were a fair amount of tourists there, and smoking cigarettes is somehow allowed on the terrace, which we didn't realize until we were seated.
Second, they did take temperatures at the hostess station and the wait staff wore masks, but outside of that, there were no preventative COVID-19 measures. All tables were seated with very little distance in between, and when we sat down at the bar, we were very uncomfortable because people came and sat directly beside us. The waitress also kept taking off her mask to speak to us.
If you do end up here, stick with their "tradtional" (ie fried) offerings. I liked my crab cakes, which were okay, but were really pricey for what was offered (no sides, 3 small crabcakes - $28). My friend's chicken was so bad, she ended up sending it back, and said it was the worst chicken she ever had.

Where to start. We booked for 2 for a Thanksgiving dinner while in Nashville. The restaurant is located at the 4th floor of the Fairmont hotel. When we arrived, the room was far from being fool, but the only 2 persons taking care of the customers were too busy to care about us, and we had to wait about 5 minutes until someone came to check on us. Then, we were sent to the bar while waiting for our table to be ready. Honestly, that sounded more like "forced sale" than anything else as there were many free tables. Anyway, let's jump on the dinner itself. It was a special menu, and we knew it in advance. For the starter, my wife chose the salad while I had the soup. The salad was ok'ish, although we are still looking for the pecans which were supposed to be in according to the description on the menu. And that salad was quite basic. My soup was a butternut squash soup, but it didn't say on the menu that it was made with cinnamon, which I don't like. Let see if the main will be better. I had the duck, and if the meat was kind of ok, the "stuffing" was simply horrible. Dry bread... that's it. And as a side some burnt sprouts. My wife had the mushroom risotto. It tasted like plain rice, as we found only 3 small pieces of mushroom. Finally, for the dessert we both had the hot chocolate creme brulee which was supposed to come with marshmallow ice cream. We got our 2 cremes brulees, No trace of chocolate and no ice cream. When my wife asked where was the ice cream, the waiter said it's coming. And we got, on the same plate, 2 half scoop of... vanilla ice cream. Needless to say that the creme brulee was not to remember.
The waiter was probably aware of the poor quality of the meal as he didn't add on the check the 2 glasses of sparkling wine my wife had during the dinner.
Nothing against the 2 persons managing the room, they did what they could to take care of the customers. But that dinner was a disaster. I'm quite sad for our Thanksgiving evening.

By far the worst service I’ve ever had. We went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our server ANTHONY was very unprofessional by cursing in the initial conversation. We hadn’t been before, so we got basics a salad and a burger. We got the drinks he suggested and everything seemed fine. Not only was the burger burnt even the bun was burnt. We couldn’t even finish it. Our friends ordered shots, but brought us a shot too…. We took it, asked for a coke. ANTHONY literally said “No, y’all are good. I just need y’all to pay and get out.” I’m 39 weeks pregnant just to put this into perspective. I look inside and I see the waiter speaking to other employees looking at our table. He comes back with the check. Didn’t split it between the two couples. We asked for the ticket to be split he said “I’ll split it with your cards at the register,” but he never asked who’s card was for which couple. I go to the register to ask how he knew which card belonged to who, and he said he was going to split the check down the middle…. I asked for the check to be split by the two parties and he said “No, I’m going to split in down the middle,” not once but twice. It took for another lady to split the tickets for us to be charged for our separate orders. I will be calling to speak with a manager in the morning. I spent $90 on burnt food and bad customer service. I wish I had taken a picture of the food. Very disappointed and still hungry honestly. If it wasn’t for me being 10 months pregnant, and not trying to go into labor I definitely wouldn’t have paid for the food, and wouldn’t have left without speaking to a manager. I’m never the type to scream racism, but something definitely was off for absolutely no reason.

I chose the Fairlane Hotel in part because of Ellington’s, which had a cigar menu and an outdoor patio cigar area. We ordered two espresso martinis, which were tasty, however small for the $16 per martini charge.
Outside we found a small “cigar” area on the patio which seemed to be a forgotten space. There were two chairs, a couple tables, a couple broken tables. and a patio couch without a cushion. It looked like there was a ev at some point but that was fine as well.
I would not choose Ellington’s again for cocktails and cigars. We chose to eat dinner somewhere else.

Found this gem for a little pre-show snack and cocktail. Our bartender Sam was awesome. Knowledgeable and friendly, Sam steered us right on a black manhattan. Our gulf oysters and oysters Rockefeller were delicious and on point. The panko blue crab cakes were meaty and cooked to perfection. Sam even came out to the patio to let us know our food was arriving. Nice house band playing for our stay, service staff was pleasant. Manager was on point touching tables and thanking us for our patronage on the way out the door. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!!!

We went for a date night from out of state. The space is amazing. Beautifully decorated. Great atmosphere and a very nice patio for outdoor dining. The food was ok. It probably would have been better if the staff had been able to explain what it was/knew the menu. The service was non existent. We were ignored by the bartender that was less than 2 feet away from us. The other one was offensive with his comments about hot women. No one checked in on us with food or drinks even when the drinks were empty. When the food was eaten they just left the dirty plates there. On the upside the drinks were really good. if you're just looking for a good cocktail this might be worth a stop.

The manager and staff did a great job making my birthday special! The fried brie is even more amazing than it looks and the rib eye was perfectly prepared! Dessert.....you MUST have the creme brulee! We met friends for dinner and all of us were impressed. Gene, our server, was most helpful and on the ball. He made some great drink and food suggestions. The Bone Marrow butter appetizer was delicious as was the baked brie. Two of us got the beef tenderloin. Tender enough to cut with a butter knife! Heavenly apple caramel cake and banana pudding ended the meal. We recommend this restaurant highly to everyone.

Clearly a lot of thought and preparation have gone into this beautiful restaurant with a top notch menu. The service was perfect but I thought the food did not offer the perfection I expect now from high end Nashville eateries. The location is superb and the bar absolutely a 5 star. I want to give Ellington’s another chance and hope it reaches its potential but can’t get above that 4 I rated it so far.

We went here on a Sunday evening for a special birthday celebration! Taylor was our host and made excellent suggestions in both drinks and food. They have some very unique cocktails of which our party ordered 3 different ones. Everyone enjoyed them. For food, the salmon dip was a wonderful appetizer! My daughter and her friend had been talking about the ricotta gnudi after exploring the menu online and they were very pleased. My hubby stepped totally out of his comfort zone and ordered the squid ink bucatini! I got a taste of it and it was excellent! Wished I had ordered it, but the salmon with spinach and fingerlings was excellent! Other than the pain of downtown parking, this is a definite place I’d want to revisit!

We randomly stopped at Ellington’s for our anniversary dinner because the building looked pretty and the menu sounded good. I’m so glad we stopped here because everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel and the restaurant are both beautiful and upscale. The food was amazing and the dessert was really good too. My husband and I both loved our meals. The service was excellent and our waiter Christopher was really friendly and made great recommendations. I absolutely loved the whole vibe of this restaurant and I would 1000% come back again. Ellington’s was a really great choice for celebrating our anniversary!

Food was delicious. We started with a charcuterie board. It was beautifully arranged with a variety of cheeses, meats and more. We then shared an arugula salad (very good) and the risotto (also delicious). Recommend trying their Starry Eyes cocktail.
Atmosphere is sophisticated without feeling pretentious. Treat yourself to an after dinner drink on their rooftop or deck to enjoys the Downtown Nashville views.
