Top notch Irish pub fare like shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and bangers and mash. Fresh, cold Guinness on tap of course, and an outstanding Irish band the Friday night we were there. My fish and chips were excellent -- cod fried perfectly, lightly battered and not too greasy, the fries thick cut and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The music was so good we stayed longer than we had originally planned and had another round of beers. We'll be back!

Atmosphere there was really cool. I was there on a Thursday night with some friends and family after we just arrived in Nashville and there was live music which I assume they have every night. I had a black bean burger and fries with a Guinness blonde. The other people I was with had the fish and chips and steak pie. Everyone’s food was really tasty and the prices were not bad at all. Beer selection was mostly Guinness (of course) and other Irish varieties but they also had an extensive menu of drinks with Bailey’s like mint coffee cream and etc. I noticed they had wine too. Overall, a good experience and would recommend to anyone, especially with the relaxed vibe.

You've got to have Irish ambiance in an Irish pub/restaurant, right? This place has it in abundance. It goes beyond that, though. The food is fantastic. The corned beef and cabbage is phenomenal. Even your standard fish and chips was fresh and tender. Our only regret is that we visited at lunch and not for dinner when they have live music. I'm told it's a very lively place. Would probably need to make reservations for a Friday/Saturday night.

No point in describing the food because plenty of other reviewers have covered it. I came to McMamaras with a large group so we had no expectation of being seated quickly. However the staff could not give us any idea of how long our wait would be.
Soooo they said there was open seating in the upstairs bar/dining room. McNamara’s, I did not come to an Irish Pub to hear acoustic country music. Just broadcast the music from the band downstairs. It was very disappointing and I’m flabbergasted that is something you’d subject patrons to in an Irish Pub. BIG FAIL!!
Our server was working the bar as well as waiting on tables and she was out of touch for too long to provide refills quickly enough. No salt and pepper and no extra condiments.
If you go to McNamara’s avoid the upstairs...just go to any bar that plays country music. Total waste of time. BTW...a small Ruben sandwich is not worth $14.

Many of the same wonderful employees have been here since day one. That speaks highly of the management and the the teamwork that makes McNamara's successful. No place is perfect, but they 100% step up to the plate to address any issues the diner may have. They are consistent with the menu and the music. I've never had anything but a great time here and the food is awesome.
During the pandemic they are still providing great food and great takeout service.
Thank you, McNamara's for your great staff and services. Be Blessed.

We visited McNamara's based on the reviews, and we are glad we did. The ambiance felt special, the food was delicious, and our server was wonderful. I had salmon and cabbage, both staples during my travels in Ireland. My British husband was fully satisfied with the Steak and Ale pie and the draft Guinness. We can't say enough about the service - friendly and attentive.

We stopped by for lunch and had a few pints along with some very delicious food. We shared the Scottish Eggs and Potato Soup to start. We both ordered off of the lunch menu which were a smaller portion size, but found to be quite generous. My husband got the Fish and Chips and I had the Vegetable Curry over red skin mashed potatoes. Both were really tasty, but the Curry sauce in my dish was outstanding! We ordered our deserts to go of the Irish Cheesecake and Bread pudding, with the latter being our top choice. We hope to come back to enjoy some music this week and try some other menu items out. The staff and our server were really nice and did a great job in making it an enjoyable dining choice.

The beer the atmosphere the location are all top notch. Just feels cozy when you come in. Lighting and ambience is just on point. Good selection of beer and the fish and chips were really good. Done perfect.. good batter. Now saving the best for last. We got the scotch eggs as an app for four of us but after having a tasting, knowing I can not find this dish regularly, I ordered it again for my main dish because it was that good. Hard boiled egg, rolled in breakfast sausage and fried then battered. Stop here.

The atmosphere you get hit with when you first walk in is FANTASTIC! First thing I smelled was fish & chips. My husband & I were sat right way. He had a black velvet drink, which is Guinness and cider mix. We got the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, the house sauce was phenomenal! I got corned beef & cabbage as my entree and my husband got Irish stew with a side piece of fried cod. Both again were beyond fantastic. Our waitress was great at up selling items from the menu to us. We even got dessert to go.
I highly recommend checking this place out! Next time we're in Nashville we'll be stopping here.

Went for lunch today, had a friend in town and we went on the way to to take her to the airport. Service was terrible!! Server was rude and could have cared less! Politely ask three times for a refill of tea from the server at the table next to ours and never got it. Had to ask four times for our ticket but she was too busy talking to what I am guessing was some friends to pay any attention to us. When we finally just stood up she rushed over and basically threw our ticket on the table. Both our orders of Fish and Chips were ice cold by the time we got them but since our server never came by to check on out order we couldn't tell her how our meals were. Save your money, better off going to Captain D's for fish then this place! Worst service ever!! TERRIBLE!!

We order drinks, they were fine. The food was not so fine. When I told my waiter I didn’t like it, I had to wait for the owner, he told me there was nothing wrong with it. I disagreed as it didn’t taste anything like Irish food, I was not offered anything else at all, instead the same plate was three times brought out to be forced in front of me. Until I told him straight I will not eat it.. He then told me I had done this before, which make me believe there has been someone else who has also been disappointed in this bland food. I had never been here before. I am sorry I didn’t take pictures to post. Not everyone is going to enjoy your food. I definitely didn’t and your attitude. That alone will make me never want to return slàn!

Husband and I were up for celebrating a special day with dinner out but were not up for fighting the parking mess in downtown Nashville. We had driven by McNamara’s many times but never tried it, as we like a little more upscale in our dinners out. But we agreed it would do for at least a try.
We were blown away! First parking lot was huge and almost filled, but there was parking across the street anyway. Then we were seated right away by a smiling little pretty, and then greeted almost as quickly by a friendly waiter. This was looking good!
Without going into too much detail, let us say there wasn’t a single thing we had that we wouldn’t rate below superlative. Irish bread? Best I’ve eaten in a restaurant. Scotch eggs? What a delightful munch before dinner. Corned beef and cabbage? Look at the size of the portion! Chicken with mushrooms? Outstanding! Irish cream cheesecake? OMG. Irish beer? Really, really great. With tax, the bill came to $80 for all 4 courses, an extra side, and liquor ( and I had wine). Needless to say this will be our new favorite restaurant in the local area.
If you’re not convinced that you should come here, let me add that also there was LIVE entertainment…on a Thursday. An Irish trio fiddling and singing Irish folk songs to liven up the atmosphere. Played the entire time we ate there.
Even if you live on the other side of Nashville, it is worth the drive, folks. It simply is that good!

Visited this establishment the day after St. Pat's!! (It was still rocking!). A group of 8 were able to enjoy a few Guiness and then enjoed a great meal. Usually the food in a pub-like environment is OK, our meals were truly great. Corned beef outstanding but Guiness pie won the vote.
Entertainment at 6PM was a blast. Kudos to Sean, the owner, for not only being a great performer, but also a person who thanked his employees for their hard work and also thanked patrons for supporting this venue.
Visited a number of entertainment spots in Nashville, but none can compare to McNamara's.

McNamaras was recommended by a friend and I have to say it was a great recommendation. Very friendly staff, clean, wonderful fun atmosphere. They had an Irish band playing and a line of cloggers began to dance. So much fun! I highly recommend the Shepherd Pie. Yum! I will definitely be back.

My grown grand daughter and I ate lunch here while I was visiting her over Labor Day weekend. We ordered the Scotch Eggs, Full Irish Breakfast and Grilled Galway Salmon. Everything was prepared well and tasted delicious. Service was exceptional. The background of Irish music set the tone for a lovely atmosphere that was special and quiet. I highly recommend eating here if you are looking for a nice lunch or brunch in Nashville.
