Moto features inspired rustic-modern Italian cuisine. The menu is a contemporary approach to authentic Italian cooking that utilizes product consciously sourced from local farms and artisans balanced by premium product imported from Italy. Moto's headliners are seasonal 'market' items and perfectly crafted house-made pasta dishes. There is also a comprehensive, steak and chop section borrowed from nationally recognized sister MStreet restaurant, Kayne Prime. Moto's vibe is chic, comfortable and sophisticated. I will preface my review by saying that prior to dinner at Moto, I had eaten two full meals of fried chicken and was stuffed. Nonetheless, Moto provided a casual date spot for dinner. The Caesar was great, as were the artichokes to start. The pastas do taste fresh as well, but nothing truly blew me away.

Excellent service hands down, make no mistake, it's very attentive and top drawer. I must add, it's very very pricey for what you get. There were 4 of us and it was over 300 dollars, we had wine but not a bottle. Also we're Italian from a large expensive city, not sure why spaghetti with marinara should be so expensive and it was a kids portion in my neck of the woods. I totally recognize Nashville is growing so prices are creeping up but not for 90 cent box of spaghetti and we're hungry. The fish and the veal were not enough, tasty but skimpy. Normally we walk out of Italian restaurants with left overs.... not here, no way. I hate to write this review because our server was amazing but he doesn't control the pricing.....so sorry.

This was an EXCEPTIONAL meal, from the wait staff of Reginald and Darrianne with their outstanding recommendations and descriptions of the menu choices to the actual meal service and food itself. Chef's kiss to all!!! Given the recommendation from a friend to try to the brussel sprouts, we built our meal around that. The Heritage Pork Chop with the divine marsala was deliciously juicy and so flavorful with bites of macerated pears and fat back bacon. The crispy Brussel Sprouts were exceptional with pancetta, bits of apple and a delicious white balsamic vinegar. We also ordered the cacio e pepe as a great pasta side and it did not disappoint. The parmigiana reggiano gave great creamy flavor to this wonderful dish. We also started the meal with the pear gorgonzola salad that was good but not as flavorful and lip smacking as the rest is the meal but was still fantastic. Do not let me forget the focaccia bread service with an extremely light olive oil and the best balsamic vinegar to balance the flavors. The balsamic was sweet and fruity and the best we've ever had. To top it all off, we shared the tiramisu for dessert and it was a light, creamy fluff of sweet goodness without the overwhelming coffee taste. All in all, this was one of the best meals we've had in years. Great job, Moto. We hope to come back but you'll definitely be at the top of our recommendations for Nashville to everyone we know. I just wish we didn't live so far away. I hope we can get back some day soon.

Yesterday, Jan. 6 was my 55th birthday, so we decided to take in a jazz show at Rudy's and then try Moto for dinner. I have to say, what a huge disappointment. We don't go out that often because we love to cook at home, so we have pretty high standards when it comes to dining out, but we ALWAYS try to find the good in each meal out. Among the three of us, the beef carpaccio was a standout. Because that was so delicious, we were anticipating that the pastas and chop that were chosen for our main meals would be equally delicious. We were dead wrong. There is nothing more that I'd like than to report a wonderful experience, but sometimes one has to speak up when meals out, for which we are paying good money, are simply.not.good. My cacio e pepe was entirely bland, dry, and tasteless, and my daughter reported that her ravioli was the same. My husband's pork chop LOOKED scrumptious, but he reported that it was tough and tasteless as well. How could three entrees be that disappointing? We wondered if the reviews people are leaving are honest! Instead of complaining, we made a promise to ourselves to just make nice birthday meals at home, or stick with our favorite places (which were closed for a holiday break this week). This feedback is not meant to be nasty. It is simply meant to send the message that discerning diners deserve better.

We have been to Moto several times with large groups and it was very good with a great wine list and bar. This time our large group which was there for an early dinner, all agreed that the pastas were over cooked and lacked sauce. One our group members who is gluten intolerant, was served a cold meal and asked for it to be re-heated. They brought a new dish’s but they forget she was gluten intolerant. Our checks were incorrect with one of our tables being charged for all of the wine of both tables. Given our past experiences, our group of foodies were excited to go, but all agreed it was one of the worst meals we have had in years. There are lots of great restaurants in Nashville, stay away from this one!

A large group and we were fed family style with a six course meal that was outstanding from beginning to end. Terrific staff that took care of us all evening. Special thanks to JJ. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes Italian cuisine.

Very nice atmosphere. Our waiter Kyler was very knowledgeable about the menu.
The olive oil sampler was very good. No extra charge for bread like some other Italian restaurants I have been to.
My cacio e Pepe was very good. I usually get this dish and then compare it to other Italian restaurants.
The price was good compared to others restaurants.
Everyone in our party cleaned their plates.

Found this place on the internet. Searched for something nearby and different. What a find! Beautiful decor, great playlist! Bar service was outstanding! Our server, Don, a man our age was excellent. The food... I had their Cacio a Pepe. Not being a big pasta guy and wanting to try this dish for a long time, boy, did I make the right choice! Others had the pork chop, amazing, and their Bolognese was perfect. Oh, and the bread is hard to stop eating. The crispiest calamari ever. great sauces for dipping. I highly recommend this spot. (In The Gulch.)

We left Kayne Prime and could not get a Lyft to our hotel. Your staff member Ed saw us walking. My wife was walking barefoot because she had heels on. Ed offered to drive us back to the hotel. He drove us back and refused payment. He said just pay it forward. We will eat at your restaurant soon especially if you have such exceptional and caring staff.

We had reservations scheduled for another restaurant on McGavock. We arrived early and were told it would still likely be timed to that reservation. We asked another restaurant close who had good drinks. They recommended us to Moto. We got in at the bar.
After having a drink (Wildflower is amazing) we held out for our reservation at the other place. But 10 minutes past our reservation time and the great bar staff of J.L. and Emily really we couldn’t leave. They worked so hard engaging us we had to reward the service. I’m glad we did. The oysters, calamari and black spaghetti were amazing. Most of all, it just felt comfortable and friendly. Glad we stayed. These two are an asset to any business and were awesome people. Great food, great service on an event unexpected.

Great modern Italian. Pastas were spot on. Great fresh oysters on special. Great service. Fun atmosphere. Didn’t love their interpretation of tiramisu though. Just that though. Everything else was outstanding!

Best Italian food I have ever eaten. You will need a reservation if you want a table. However, Madeline at the bar will make your night. She has beautiful personality and, if it is your first visit, she has fabulous recommendations. Madeline made our Nashville trip very memorable. Bar seating is first come first served.
Don’t look anywhere else in Nashville for Italian food. Prices are reasonable given the outstanding quality of the food.
