We stopped here after we visited the cavern and the food was great. My children got salads (fried chicken & chef) and they looked amazing. I got the potato soup which was a huge bowl that I couldn't even eat half of. The food was priced right and it's worth stopping in.

My husband and I were driving by and decided to stop in after noticing all the cars in the parking lot. We were glad we did as the food is excellent and freshly prepared. We would have loved to try some of the desserts but didn't have room. Be sure to stop in if you are in the area.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Tuckaleechee Caverns. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Good variety of food both for adults and children. The pie selection was huge and all looked amazing. I highly recommend this place if in the area!

Recently, we had the chance to eat twice in the cafe and once as a take-out order. The food was excellent with huge portions. And be sure to have dessert! The grouper sandwich was excellent with delicious tarter sauce. The spaghetti special and the chicken and dumplings special were filling and yummy. The rib-eye sandwich and fried bologna sandwich were... More

We had dinner here one evening towards the end of our visit to Tennessee. I wish we would have found it sooner. There were seven of us and everyone left full and satisfied. We all had different meals and everyone gave a thumbs up. The food was excellent and came out quickly. Our drinks were kept full the entire time... More

This place was recommended by the guide at the Caverns, and it did not disappoint. Friendly service (Jamie was great), and good food. Definitely a must if you are in or near Townsend.

Black Bear Cafe has good lunch time food with a decent lunch menu for sandwiches. Out of the 4 of us 2 ordered chicken tenders which were hand coated and fried- very good. Another had an Angus burger which she said was very good and I had a fish sandwich. The fish sandwich was very good as well, comes with... More

Arrived for late lunch/early dinner. Small, clean place. Grouper sandwich was great, Hubby says his cheeseburger was really good. We shared some fried okra, tasted really fresh. They also have home made desserts, loved my chocolate chip cookie.

We stopped in for the first time mid-afternoon and they were half full. Both of us had the chicken basket. I don't particularly like extra crispy, but the center was moist and tender. Huge portions! Our waitress was friendly and efficient. We love family owned and operated places!
