Too bad it's no longer open. 😞 was one of the few unique places in Boerne. You missed a good place.

I’m a Salvadoran living in Boerne and would definitely recommend Casa Amaya for some authentic Salvadoran food.

Excellent pupusas, I'm from El Salvador and have travelled the states and by far these are one of the best ones I've had. If you ever had pupusas - you will love these ones!

We stopped by for lunch on Monday and the daily special was Caldo de Res. It was delicious - a rich beef short rib broth with plenty of vegetables! Highly recommended!!

Still not sure why there isn't a line out the door at breakfast at this place like the taco place next door. The Papusa's are homemade and great and their coffee is served whipped and yummy. Had Breakfast #5 this time: scrambled eggs with stuff,...refried beans, plantains, crema and a chunk of white cheese. Except for our bean and cheese taco being as cold as the inside restaurant on a rare 30 degree day in Texas, it was another good visit. Will go again.More

These handmade and fresh griddled papusas are amazingly and authentically good. Stuffed with beans, cheese, pork, and flavorful goodness! A taste of Central America here in the Texas Hill Country. Don’t miss this gustatory excursion just off of Main Street.

Have been going to the popular breakfast taco place right next door to Amaya's for a couple of years now. I've always been intrigued with their happy, inviting exterior, so today I opted for the new place instead of the old trusted place. I was...pleasantly surprised! It's cute, charming, and the staff is really friendly! I'm not sure why there isn't a line out the door. Dani waited on me with somewhat of a broken English accent. She was super nice and accommodating. The food is a nice Central American style, so you get things you don't get anywhere else. I tried the Pupusas, stuffed fresh, handmade corn tortillas. WOW! That was fun. The Pork Revueltas were remarkable, too. Really tasty. Perfectly seasoned. I got the tiny version, since I hadn't had them before, but will order several next time! Also, Monday-Thursday 7am-11am you can get coffee for $1! And I mean it is GREAT coffee. They froth the milk for you and what you get is a light, delicious cup of java. I'd come back just for this. Free refills, too. Not to diss the other place, because their Bubba taco is wonderful and very reasonable, but if you want a happier place with waaaay friendlier service and prices just as reasonable, it's a no-brainer to try this place. It's a perfect weekend read-the-paper place!More

Casa Amaya is like dining while on a vacation to Central America. Traditional dishes not seen on most 'Mexican food' place menus and certainly not elsewhere in Boerne. Almost hidden away in an old home, this place is worth searching for. Don't expect fancy (our...meal came on paper plates) but be prepared for unusual and tasty items from Honduras, Guatemala and the surrounding lands.More

This is my second time eating breakfast at Casa Amaya and both times I have loved the food and been impressed with the service. From what I understand this operation used to be in a food truck but they wanted something a little more permanent...an moved into an old house. The furnishings are rustic with simple wood tables, benches and chairs. The place also had several customers which is always a good sign. The young lady that helped me was very nice and upbeat as she explained the menu and choices. My choice for breakfast was the Honduran taco (Baleadas). It was delicious. The coffee was good too. I would definitely recommend this establishment and I will be back in the future.More
