I love hamburgers and could probably eat one other day. I am a country boy and have lived in Texas all of my life. I looked at this place driving by and said wow, I bed that's got an old grill with some seasoning that...you can't possibly get at some new place. So, in I went! A basic burger, onion rings, and a coke about 13 dollars. Ok, so I have had 100 dollar steaks and plenty of meals with another person over 200 dollars at a fancy Brazilian steak house with drinks and deserts WAY over 200 for a couple. But I am at a gas station that happens to have a 30-year-old grill. So I was expecting a 6,7, or 8 dollar hamburger basket with flavor that only a grandma could make BUT NOPE, that was not what happened It was a burger you could have easily made at home with little or no seasoning, certainly not Angus beef and nothing fresh or tasty about it. The best I could say was that it didn't taste bad. It really had no taste at all. My date had a club sandwich, and while the portion size of the club was above average, the food again was bland at best. We both ate our meals and said well it was ok but we won't be back again or making any sort of a special trip. They had every visual clue that it was going to be a step back in time to an old diner with lots of great flavors, but they missed the mark horribly. Less than 3 miles from there going toward San Antonio are several more places you can eat, and you will be glad you did. This place, for all I know, may have been amazing at one time, but today 7-25-2020, it was not worth 25 dollars for a lunch meal that was bland at best.More
