My friend and I ate here after playing golf at Buckhorn in Comfort, TX. We were driving home to San Antonio and saw the billboard on the side of I-10 and decided to give this place a try. I wouldn't recommend it as a place...to stop. The food was average and bland tasting.More

If I could give them a zero-star rating, I would. Employees not wearing masks while preparing food, 15-20 min wait for a drive-thru order and the food was pretty much inedible...

I am beyond disappointed with Flagstop Cafe. I have lived in the area for decades and FC has been my go-to when I want homestyle diner food. Over the years I have had business and other group meetings here and have met friends and family...here. And then Covid-19 happened. My husband is disabled and I have a medical condition that at times is crippling. Sometimes I am able to wear a mask but very rarely for more than a few minutes; often I don't wear a mask but I am sensitive to keeping distance from people so they don't get concerned. Three days ago my husband and I walked into FC for breakfast and neither of us had masks on. There were only 3 or 4 customers inside. While we were looking at the menu, a young man came to the counter and said we needed masks. We explained that we both have conditions, legitimate reasons for not wearing masks. He responded that it was city mandate. We politely restated that we have legitimate reasons for not wearing masks. He said "And we have the right to refuse service to anyone." I said, "So you're kicking me out because of a medical condition?" He said yes. Let me be clear - it is absolutely their right to refuse service. But for having a disability? They have lost me as a customer. I will be moving the Friday morning meeting that I scheduled at FC. I am disappointed that FC has taken the mask mandate, which is not a law, so far that they would violate actual laws.More

We went in and all available tables were unbussed... So we asked to get one cleaned and the lady came out with the cart and a spray bottle and a wet rag... She bussed and wiped all the open tables... Never once picking up the...spray bottle using the same wet nasty looking towel/rag. Then a man got out of a booth with a base cap on that said Flag Stop and walked behind the counter with his mask down and grab a handful of fries from the warmer... And then walked on by.... We have eaten at Flagstop several times since we moved into the area in 1985. So we sent a note via their web site to them figuring they'd want to know and fix it.... Our note included contact info... To date not a word... So use your own judgement... We won't be going back until some serious action is taken...More

I have had really good burgers here before but had not eaten here in a few years as I live maybe 60 or 70 miles away. I specifically drove home from the river in Kerrville via I10 to eat here today. I wanted their fried...chicken but they were out so we ordered 2 burgers and a fish sandwich which they did not have the bun for so we opted for a hamburger bun. It came to $40 and the burgers and fish were all overcooked, the fish very much so. The fries, onion rings and vanilla shake were fine but for the price and my memory of their food being much better we were very disappointed. The food was fresh and hot, we ate on tv trays in their parking lot before heading home. I do not know if the cook needs some more training or if that is how their food is now but I do not see us driving out of our way to visit here again. Flagstop has been around a long time, I hate leaving a bad review but tonight they deserve itMore

I love hamburgers and could probably eat one other day. I am a country boy and have lived in Texas all of my life. I looked at this place driving by and said wow, I bed that's got an old grill with some seasoning that...you can't possibly get at some new place. So, in I went! A basic burger, onion rings, and a coke about 13 dollars. Ok, so I have had 100 dollar steaks and plenty of meals with another person over 200 dollars at a fancy Brazilian steak house with drinks and deserts WAY over 200 for a couple. But I am at a gas station that happens to have a 30-year-old grill. So I was expecting a 6,7, or 8 dollar hamburger basket with flavor that only a grandma could make BUT NOPE, that was not what happened It was a burger you could have easily made at home with little or no seasoning, certainly not Angus beef and nothing fresh or tasty about it. The best I could say was that it didn't taste bad. It really had no taste at all. My date had a club sandwich, and while the portion size of the club was above average, the food again was bland at best. We both ate our meals and said well it was ok but we won't be back again or making any sort of a special trip. They had every visual clue that it was going to be a step back in time to an old diner with lots of great flavors, but they missed the mark horribly. Less than 3 miles from there going toward San Antonio are several more places you can eat, and you will be glad you did. This place, for all I know, may have been amazing at one time, but today 7-25-2020, it was not worth 25 dollars for a lunch meal that was bland at best.More

The food is really good, but every time we call for a order they always mess it up!My daughter always asks for onion rings instead of fries and they always give her fries.I ordered no lettuce on my burger and they added lettuce. I recommend...eat there and not to order take out.More

Grabbed lunch here while driving through the area along nearby Interstate 10. The food was all homecooked style and the fried chicken was very good with the exception that it was VERY salty. They have ample off-street parking and they have plenty of provisions you...can buy from the store while you are there. We don't live in the area however, I would recommend this place as somewhere you can get a decent meal while travelling through the area.More

Hash "browns"... were white and cold Ham was a thin piece of tasteless meat. Eggs and the single piece of toast were done to perfection. $11 plus dollars for breakfast with coffee. Save your money!

What a surprise for a gas station/convenience store/restaurant! The chicken fried steak was really tasty and fresh. My wife opted for a burger and onion rings which was also very good(only detractor is that the bun fell apart before she could finish. Onion rings were...HUGE! Needs to go back and try the fried chicken...More
