Went in today and the girl that waited on me could not make change, I had to make her get off her phone to make my coffees, she was rude and the drinks were very sub-par!
Not so much as a thank you!
I identify towns and neighborhoods by their coffeehouses. These days, when they also serve food, they are partly restaurant and partly coffeehouse. I guess that’s necessary to make a financial go of it. Here they are, right downtown on the main street, in the middle...of the action. The roomy interior has plenty of tables. Kick up your feet and stay a spell.More
Nice parking lot just prior to the restaurant.
There were pastries just before the checkout.
Chicken ceasar was very large with a little chicken chunks. Dressing was on the side.
The sandwiches were very nice, and I was told the chicken salad was fabulous.
Coffee...offered at least 3 choices. The bold was very tasty. I really liked the food and atmosphere.
There was a tv on, but you had to go out of your way to have it distract you. Easy place to have a conversation and enjoy lunch.More
I get it, conservative people drink coffee and own coffee shops too, but how often do you see a TV playing MSNBC in a "liberal" coffee shop? Never. People go out for coffee to avoid that kind of stuff. I'd understand if it was a...sports game, but WTF? Coffee was decent but not exceptional. It is a lovely building and location and we got some great comfortable seats by the window (away from the TV), so still a worthwhile visit. Music playlist was refreshingly a-political 70s-80s pop, so good job there. But just try to be more welcoming to everyone.More
Latte's should not be a half a cup of foam, actually there should be no foam, my wife claim's this the worst coffee she has ever had and we have been to coffee shops from coast to coast and south Texas to Alaska. The Kolache...I had tasted like a left over from the other day. Her muffin was ok. This is our fifth or 6th, (and last) time here for a latte and a bite. The quality of the food in this country has suffered for too be long, we need to stand up and make it right.More
We'd bailed early from our hotel in San Antonio near the airport. It offered a free breakfast, but we were there during spring break, and the breakfast room was crowded with kids & young families -- all talking at once. We decided to head north...and catch breakfast on the way. Finally got off the highway at Boerne. The first establishment we saw that looked interesting was the Daily Grind. All meals made to order, nice variety of breakfast fare -- lots beyond scrambled eggs and bacon! Fresh hot coffee. All in all, a very nice place to stop. Casual, great food. Recommend it -- am sure it would also be good for lunch as well.More
The Daily Grind is a nice respite from the hot Texas summer and a day of shopping. Locals also favor the Grind for their soups, sandwiches and salads. Coffee is good. Very comfortable setting. On Main Street.
