About
The Dodging Duck Brewhaus is located in Boerne, Texas, in the Texas Hill Country. We have an eclectic menu of international and local favorites, from Thai Lettuce Wraps to Chimichurri Grilled Beef Tenderloin to Bratwurst & Sauerkraut. Best of all, we brew great beer! We've already won three gold and three silver medals at the World Beer Championships! Enjoy the ambience as well! Sit on our covered deck and watch the ducks play on the century-and-a-half old mill pond of Cibolo Creek, have an intimate dining experience in one of our lakehouse-style dining rooms, or sit at the wraparound bar and talk beer with the brewmaster (or talk Boerne with the locals)!

I try now to be that “Karen” that leaves bad reviews but holy cow.... I’m a Boerne resident and I usually have great service here. However, The last few times, it’s been absolutely disarray at the hostess stand!! They have no idea who they are...seating, or where. Visibly open tables and long waits! Managment needs to come down on this, because you are losing business from the get go before people even get in the restaurant! Sad times 😣More

A must stop while in Bourne, TX. From the atmosphere, to the beer, to the food, to the service and live music on the patio... two thumbs up!

Grabbed lunch here after seeing the Cave with No Name. Had the Sea Dogs and they were delicious! My husband had the chopped burger and was very happy with it. Good atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating.

We have always liked this place .... and still do. Most of their food is very good. Great burgers and sides and salads .... our favorite is the fish & chips. However, I have a tip after yesterday. Do Not order the peach iced tea....It was colored water for $4/glass!!!!!More

Great atmosphere and service. Have been a few times in last couple of months and appreciate the great service and ability to feel safe in COVID world and still have a normal sit down meal with family and friends Again. Food is always accurate and...good. Great portion sizes and prices fit the Meal. Dogs on a leash welcome outside. Husband loves their VegiFeast.More

The sausages were amazing so was the beer. I'm normally an IPA fan. Their IPA was pretty good, but their Zaner's Old Geezer Pecan Brown Ale was fantastic. We were in town on a Monday. This worked out great as a lot of local places...are closed on Monday or we may not have found this. Very glad we did. Had a great time! Great walk down Citbolo Creek after our meal.More

Went here for lunch on a weekday with my husband about 2 weeks ago. We liked it. There is a lot of outdoor seating which is great. Nice view of people walking toward downtown and others just walking along the river. Server was attentive. Order...the fried tomatoes appetizer. You won't regret it but you might regret sharing. There is a table set aside on Astroturf for families who bring a dog. I ordered the fish and chips plate. It is a huge but delicious portion. They gave me 3 or 4 very large pieces of fish and lots of chips. Will be back to try other items.More

The Dodging Duck is a funky little place across from Cibolo Creek on River Rd. (SH46) and is one of the few restaurants open on Monday. There is a lovely covered patio for outdoor dining. All the staff wear masks and masks are required to...enter the indoor portion of the restaurant. I recommend the nachos, El Pato's Street Tacos, Cindy's Heart of Boerne Salad, and the Fish and Chips. The burgers are good, too. They have a great list of microbrews and wine.More

This restaurant came highly recommended by a local real estate agent. We all got salads and they weren't anything special. They did have some other items on the menu we would ho back to try when we are hungrier. The service was adequate. We did...have to get the attention of someone to get drink refills.More

We just moved from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to the Boerne area and are still in the beginning stages of finding our way around the many unique offerings in the area. One of the first places we visited was the Dodging Duck. The view is...fairly nice and it seemed to have a good vibe looking from the outside. Knowing what I know now, we should have kept walking! I arrived with my family and the sheer indignant attitude afforded us from the host to the other members of this restaurant was immediate. For a place that probably was affected by recent quarantine to be so dismissive of their customers was surprising. We had a very hard time getting our waitress to acknowledge us and I had to get up to ask for refills three times. Here's the kicker; they weren't busy at all and the food is mediocre at best. I swore I would never visit this place again, but my wife insisted we shouldn't write this place off because of just one bad experience. I agreed on this as everyone, and every place, has a bad day and maybe this was the case. So we revisited the Duck without our family this time and again the Millenials were out in force doing what they do best...that being insulted they have to do their job, rolling their eyes and overall providing extremely poor service. After one beer, that I had to hunt down a waitress to even order, we left. There were less than 20 people in the entire restaurant that night and their staff were all huddled around the front obviously too busy to attend to those "despicable patrons" otherwise known as paying customers. If you want a front seat for the worst in Boerne...this is your place. As for me and my family, we will certainly Dodge this Duck. There are too many other options in this town and we will find one that actually values our dollar. In my life I have probably taken the time to write a half dozen reviews, so for me to sit down and write one of this length speaks volumes. It all goes back to leadership and the values that are imparted to any team. Obviously the ownership of the restaurant have become complacent and probably feel that their following and location don't merit commitment to ensuring their staff understands who pays the bills. My absence will not be felt, but as they say...a thousand cuts...More
