Well I got used to the salsa even though it was made with tomato paste, The refried beans were not good. The Charros are OK. High points the fajita meant is good and tender and the queso is very good along with the service.

Didn't eat there but the beer was cold, the margarita's were great and the queso was perfect. Great place to meet a group and hang-out.

I was looking for a Mexican restaurant on our drive from Houston to Austin on Hwy 290 and stumbled upon this little gem. The food was surprising good and the service very attentive. The only down tick is that Margarita was bland. If you are going to serve liquor, put liquor in your drinks. We will probably stop by again... More

A wonderful family run restaurant the food here is gorgeous and traditional. The salsa is classic and zesty not from a jar! The atmosphere is wonderful and the walls are covered in charming family photos bringing a real feel of culture. Brilliant place to eat.

hadn't been thru Brenham in awhile, and we lucked in to finding this jewel. we travel with our 4 legged companion, so I went in and asked if we could sit outside with our dog, and they were so very accommodating. (yes, brought our Andruw water) The food was a 5 for sure and the service 5+ before we left... More

Fresh ingredients reasonably well prepared but not exceptional. Decent chips and salsa. Pleasant but very slow service. Building is a bit musty and does not appear to be maintained (some peeling exterior paint, women's room barely lit with a few mismatched bulbs in a partially filled light fixture). Better to sit on the porch.

It is very good. This is real Mexican food. They use cilantro, comino, Mexican oregano, Serrano peppers, not chili powder. They use real cheese, not that grated stuff from a zip lock bag. The bean have bacon and comino, the refried are very good, but I love the charro beans. Charro beans are the whole bean with spices and you... More

If my Grandma were alive - this would be here restaurant. Usually you will find family members here helping out. I am from Arizona and was raised on authentic Mexican food. Simply the best experience combining menu, atmosphere, service I have found anywhere in the lower 48 states. I am on the road at least 300 days a year averaging... More

Stopped on way back from antique shows since the restaurant is right off 290. Big drinks, made to order, and delicious fresh salsa with cilantro and superthin homemade chips.

OPEN LATE means past 9 which is more than I can say for most of Brenham. The food is good but not the best Mexican food I have ever had. The building has a lot of character. There is a porch that wraps around the building where people were eating along with singing karaoke.
