We had such an wonderful lunch at the cafe. We enjoyed the food and sat for rwo hours visiting. The waitress was attentive but let us talk until closing time. They only take cash but you won't need much. The prices are very reasonable.

I eat breakfast here whenever I can. Their cooking is like grandmas!!!! Biscuits/gravy, grits....all the good stuff!! Lunch is also worth the trip. Mainly locals in here because they know where to go to eat in Brenham!!!

We were driving along Highway 290 and decided to stop in Brenham for lunch here. The outside is certainly not at all attractive, and the interior looks like time stopped somewhere around 1958. But if you are looking for a classic Texas blue plate special ("meat and 3 sides"), then you have found it at Santa Fe Cafe. Friendly server,... More

A real throwback to past years when service was important and so is food quality. Great home cooking but most folks here know that so come early for lunch

We enjoy eating lunch here on a regular basis. There is a rotating daily list of specials that are reasonably priced. On this visit, I had the Beef Liver lunch, which comes with a choice of 3 sides. I chose the Mashed Potatoes,, Okra Salad (with Tomatoes and Onions. Delicious!), and Braised Brussel Sprouts with Cheese. My son had his... More

What you would expect from a small town cafe. The food was average, but the prices were very reasonable. Unfortunately the best part of the meal was the toast. The rest was hum drum. Not worth going out of the way.

They have three meats to chose from and a long list of vegetables to pick three from. All of this with a drink and dessert for less than $9.00. All the locals eat there. They ONLY TAKE CASH! They are open for breakfast and lunch only.

Like the roadside cafes and diners found all over the US, this long time established restaurant serves typical breakfast and lunch fare with sandwiches and blue plate specials for less than $10....be prepared, cash only. Service is quick and friendly.

we enjoyed lunch today at the Santa Fe Cafe - I had the meatloaf with peas, corn, baked beans, rolls, coffee and dessert for a little over $8. My husband had the fried chicken. We'll definitely go back. Parking is often tight at the lunch hour (12 noon) but we found that at 12:45 no problem to park. Open 6... More

For $9.00 you can go get a hamburger, fries and coke at a fast food place. Here you get a meat, 3 vegetables and desert and and drink for the same $9.00. The meal is great and if you mom was to ask what you had for lunch she would be proud of you for having a balanced meal. The... More
