Their beef fajitas are very good and their Mexican martini is worth driving for! I'm usually quite happy with my meals here. They have very good chips and salsa and the service is good.

We just had lunch at the Tamale King on our way to Tow, TX. We both had the pork tamales (we planned on the tamales, the waiter recommended pork over beef). Chips and salsa were great—a tomato based sauce of a kind which I like a lot, nicely, but not too spiced. We both opted for the chili to top... More

We were passing through on our way to Llano after dark and decided to stop for a quick bite. Taco Bell is better. I think they are more a cantina than restaurant.

I went for the tamales and was please to find what I expected. A quality tamale with shredded meat vs ground meat. My tamale dinner came with two pork and one beef just to try them both. Both were good, but the beef tamale had noticeably more flavor even covered with chili carne. My wife had the chile relleno which... More

We visited on a Friday afternoon, before 3:00, while the lunch combo was still available. For $8.99, you choose two main type items, which comes with beans and rice. I chose a cheese enchilada with red sauce and a pork tamale; Both were moist and tender, full of flavor. The rice and beans were ok, nothing special, but definitely tasty.... More

Tamale King is my favorite for New Mexican style Mexican food. Tamales, enchiladas, beans, etc. are delicious, and you can get either red or green sauce with your food. The salsa is addictive!

If you like authentic Tex-Mex in a funky off the beaten path environment then you will love Tamale King! Their entrees and ala carte items are wonderful. Their guacamole and queso are a must. The margaritas are frozen to perfection. Just be sure to bring cash because they do not accept credit cards.

We had heard that the tamales were really good so we decided to stop at Tamale King for dinner. The tamales were very good however, they had already sold out of the beef tamales. We opted for the pork and were not disappointed. The restaurant has several seating areas, not just one big room so it's easy to carry on... More

Food is always good and so are the margaritas. We always leave with a couple dozen tamales for later.
