FOOD: Rib platter was great. The ribs and sauce were tasty. They gave us four ribs even though it said it was a three rib platter, which is nice. Tons of large onion rings and they were some of the best I've ever had. The Texas toast and beans were bland. The rib platter was a great value, though. SERVICE:... More

A terrific meal in a small town. We were warned the portions are huuuge so we split a plate of ribs. They were so great and tender the meat fell off the bones. My wife was able to eat her ribs with a knife and fork unlike me who just had to eat with my fingers. The cole slaw was... More

The service was great. It had a friendly local atmosphere. The food was good. I would not say great but good.

We stay in Dalhart 4-6 times a year and never found a good place to eat. TripAdvisor actually helped and this is just a block from where we usually get gas. Dalhart is a major crossroads of Trains and Highways and Cattle. Hodies is an "elbows on the table" kind of place, and the tables are worn from elbows and... More

On our first night in Texas we decided to dive right into the local cuisine and it was just excellent. The meat portion was gigantic with an excellent BBQ sauce, topped with a few onion rings. Dinner came with potato salad & cole slaw (both excellent also), Texas Toast, and beans. The beans were the only disappointment as they were... More

Hungry before reaching my hotel in New Mexico so stopped here on my way through. Had the 2-meat dinner, can you say leftovers?!? I preferred the brisket over the ribs, both good though. I think I'd eat here again given the chance. It's a simple place, not somewhere you'd brag about the building or decor, but lots of good food... More

If you are traveling through the Dalhart area Hodie's is a great place to stop and eat. The food is awesome and the price won't break the bank. T service is also good even when they slammed which happens quite often due to the quality of the food.

The other diners were all local folks. Obviously there for the great food. We had the sliced beef BBQ sandwich. Big serving. Tender. Flavorful beef. Good sauce. Attentive service.

A proven source for your Bar B Que cravings. Always serving up the best from their complete menu of choices. My wife has found no other sauce that comes close to Hodie's secret topping. The catfish and chicken fried steak never disappoint. The ever present crowd attests to their local reputation. Easily accessible even during this summers road construction. Try... More

Most of us ordered the BbQ sandwich which was sliced beef, it was amazing. I also had the fried onion and jalapeno strips. They were yummy as well. I don't know if I will make it back to Dalhart but if I do I will definitely eat at Hodies!
