The Purple Pig is an easy place to go to for a meal. It's not fancy. It's not quite a whole-in-the-wall but we like the informality. We always get pulled pork, ribs, beans, slaw & banana pudding. Most of the timed we go through the drive-thru window. Service is good.

Servers were friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their food. I would recommend it if you are in the area. Wide variety of items on the menu.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the opportunity to try it out. We were in the neighborhood and had a 10% discount coupon so gave it a try. We had BBQ......ribs, chopped, beef, sausage and pulled pork. None of it had any special taste, just run of the mill BBQ. Actually it... More

Love to eat here often. Favs: chopped beef in any form but with stuffed potato with extra butter, sour cream and bacon, it is beyond great. I like fried catfish and fried okra! Love it here!

Purple Pig is good eats n East Texas. Like many great BBQ joints, it boasts a genuine rustic theme and backs it with a great selection of BBQ meats and sides. It is one of my regular stops when I'm on the SW side of Tyler and I've never been disappointed.

Being from the Hoosier state, I could not turn down the chance to try the Texas version of a breaded tenderloin. The Purple Pig called it a chicken fried pork tenderloin, but I know it as a Hoosier delicacy. They did a great job with the tenderloin and the side dishes of green beans and skillet potatoes were delicious. Save... More

We enjoyed dinner at the Purple Pig. I had a baked potato stuffed with chopped beef that was really large and very tasty. Others in our group appeared to enjoy their meals, too.

My family maintains a lake home in a gated community near here. Almost every time we are there, we have a meal from th Purple Pig. Our favorites on the menu are the pulled pork, the brisket, and St. Louis ribs. We always get extra sauce, too. There are a variety of sides; our favorites are the potato salad, coleslaw,... More
