El Fenix has been a favorite for family get togethers for many years now. Their food is always good and always well priced. The staff is courteous and prompt and the atmosphere fun. We've had them provide catering food for a few events and have never been disappointed. Not fancy and not trendy just good Mexican food time after time.

We visited this place for lunch and had the lunch specials. They start you out as most Mexican restaurants do with chips and salsa. We had the chicken quesadilla and the beef chimichanga. The chimichanga came with rice and refried beans the quesadilla without. Both were on the lunch specials menu and both were good.

Too many "Tex-Mex" restaurants with menus that are more "Cali-Mex" or "Indiana-Mex" out there. Or old traditional chains sell to big restaurant conglomerates or just change their menus to what I call "Yuppi-Mex". El Fenix is over 75 years old and is about as original as it gets. The service and food in the Grapevine and Ridglea restaurants are excellent.... More

Had dinner here with friends. I would have to say that it is just about what you expect from a Tex-Mex place. The usual enchiladas, fajitas, tortillas, and etc. It was tasty and I enjoyed my beef fajita dinner. My friends liked theirs as well. Nothing to write home about, but worth a visit again.

Waiter was very attentive. Food was good and not very expensive. We had a large group and they brought everything fairly quickly.

It was Christmas eve and we needed to feed a decent sized group . They worked to get us in and the meals all arrived together and all were hot and delicious . I just can't say enough about the service we received . The food is always great and the staff take care of you.

We were staying at the hotel across the street, quick and easy to walk too. When we arrived someone greeted us immediately The staff was friendly and very attentive. The initial chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. Huge menu and tons of choices to choose from. The prices very reasonable. Great food. I think it should be mentioned again,... More

Chips and salsa bowls never became empty. Chips had good flavor and were crisp. Salsa was mild but there was a bottle of hot sauce on the table so you could heat it to your taste. Wife ordered chicken combo fajita salad. Said it was very good, not the best she had ever had but very good. I had the... More

Moved to Denver in January of this year- no offense but poor quality Tex- Mex unless you count Taco Bueno! Landed in Dallas for a business trip and rental car went on auto-pilot to nearest El Fenix! Food was fresh, hot and incredible as usual. Been eating at El Fenix over 59 years and it never lets me down! I... More
