Been wanting to stop there for years . And it did not disappoint. As always there is a lineup to get in . Although not a long wait for lunch hour . All food is fresh and homemade great soup, sandwiches, desert and coffees.

We were staying in a cottage in NE Margaree and our coffee maker was not great. To our relief we found this attractive and modern cafe, the coffee was good, they have baked goods as well and serve breakfast and lunch. They get busy so...you can make an on line order for pick up.More

We stopped for lunch at the Dancing Goat today. It was busy, but we ordered within 10-15 minutes. Then proceeded to our table, where we waited... and waited... and waited! WELL OVER 60 MINUTES... FOR A SANDWICH... YES, A SANDWICH!! Not a hot roast beef...dinner! None of the staff provided us with an update on our order, nobody offered apologies during the wait. Nobody offered to top up our beverages. When we were finally told (after we had to inquire) that our food was "being plated" it still took 10 minutes, and then... they only brought my friend's sandwich... I had to wait 10 more minutes for mine! All the while, people who were seated AFTER US were being served their orders. The food was good... BUT NOT AT ALL WORTH THE AGGRAVATION. Dancing Goat owners... we're not one time tourists from afar, (who also deserve better)... we're Capers! You've lost two repeat customers.More

Found this joint on way from Baddeck to Inverness. Great pop local spot for a super breakfast and coffee. I had standard eggs bacon toast. Others in my party had blueberry pancakes that they loved. Highly recommend. *They were nice to give us roady’s to...go.More

Fabulous fresh food and a very pleasant staff. Food is delicious and relies on fresh breads for sandwiches and salads and soups. The desserts are great.

This place is awesome. It's so quaint and unique. We had lunch and breakfast there during our stay in Margaree and both were excellent. We both had soup and sandwich for lunch and classic breakfast. Everything is homemade and you will not leave hungry. The...butter tart was unreal, best I've ever had. The lemonade is homemade and so tasty. The hot drinks are also great. Probably the best spot to eat in Cape Breton but definitely on the Margaree.More

Chose the breakfast sandwich and it was amazing! Greatly appreciated the egg white only substitution (allergic to egg yolks) and it was a generous portion perfectly cooked. The bread was a giant biscuity jalapeño cheddar creation. Yum! Service was fast. Restaurant clean. Cinnamon roll great....Baked goods looked delicious.More

After being in Canada for nearly a month, and experiencing mainly average to bad coffee. This place was a little bit of heaven, we had driven most of the Cabot Trail and had nearly given up hope of finding a decent cafe. Then this cafe/...bakery appeared. The coffee was the best we had had in Canada and the food was delicious. The menu was adventurous and not the normal fast junk food that we had previously experienced this holiday. The bread and cookies also looked good and seemed to have a steady stream of customers. Just wish that there were a lot more like this.More

The service was terrible, the sandwiches were much fancier than I expected and left my stomach upset. The coffee tasted worse than Tim’s The cookies were the best part and even those if only rate 3/5

They are consistently good! I particularly LOVE their breakfast sandwich, but everything is delish! As a vegetarian I love their veggie sandwich on porridge bread. Their Lemon Squares are to die for. The staff is pleasant and considering how busy they get, they do a...wonderful job at getting things down quickly and efficiently. A gem of a place! The one thing I don't like is it can get VERY busy in summer, so it's hard to get near the place. (good for them though! :)More

Planned on breakfast here before taking the drive around the Cabot Trail. It was amazing! Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, exceptional menu, quick service and the best part... delicious food. Really appreciated the gluten free options with staff being helpful with selections. Enough spaces to...dine in, eat outside or take away. Awesome!More
