Ordered a Cuban sandwich (which was delicious and full of flavor) and Yuca fries to go with it. Decided to try the Tres Leches and it was 90% whipped cream. The cake was also a bit dry. I would go back for the food and maybe give a different dessert a chance.

I've been coming here since it first opened. We loved it so much we had our daughter's high school graduation dinner in here. They catered for 25 people and everyone was pleased with the food and service. We enjoy it as our after church service hang out place. Food is Excellent and service is even better.

Although in a strip plaza, Ricon Criollo boasts tasty Cuban cuisine, both sandwiches and full dinner plates. Open 9/10 in the morning to 9/10 at night, it also serves breakfast. I enjoyed the Pechuga de Pollo a la Plancha Encebollada (chicken breast with grilled onions) with fresh salad and chicharritas (plantain chips). Spouse let me taste his ox tail stew... More

Cousins from N. Carolina wanted Cuban food so we went to this restaurant. It's small, nothing fancy. The food was good, the mojitos were good. Food was hot. It was better than I expected. Our server was very nice and attentive; however, everyone else on the table had water and me and my husband never got water.

OK…I’ll admit that I’m no expert on Cuban food and was up to the adventure of getting a taste. We were staying in the motel right behind the restaurant and after a brief walk from our room we were greeted by a friendly waiter. Food was good, wife and I both had sandwiches and the bread was delicious. The sandwich... More

Looking for a quick lunch I googled and found this Cuban Restaurant close to my hotel. It was past 2 p.m., so there was no lunch rush. I ordered a Cuban sandwich. The service was fast and the sandwich was promptly brought to my table. Good size full of huge pieces of pork, OMG I had to take some out... More

Had the lunch buffet. The buffet is a setup on two small tables with a few choices. Not a whole lot to choose from, 2 meats, 2 rices, plantains and salad. Taste was good.

The servers are friendly and the food is good. They just need to put more spices to it. After all, it is a Cuban place.

If you are looking for Cuban food in the Houston area, or happen to be on the west side of town, check this place out. We chanced upon it in the Crossland shopping strip next to Joe's Crab Shack on Highway 6, and were pleasantly pleased. When we decided upon a couple of Cuban sandwiches, we were informed that there... More

I want to get this out up front, the food here is very good and the amount you get is fantastic. But the other aspects of the restaurant are not so good. The service we got was spotty and considering there were more wait staff than customers that was a huge minus. The restaurant has no atmosphere. Again, the food... More
