If you are an adventurous sort where food is concerned, Sammy's Wild Game should be on your "go to" list. They serve a wide variety of meats from your more traditional venison to "jackalope" - a combination of ground rabbit and antelope. Casual seating inside or out. Dog friendly on the patio. Interesting beers on tap.

I've reviewed Sammy's before, just wanted to shout out that they're still killing it. It's been a year, and their food is still the same great quality, prices are reasonable for what you're getting, and the empanadas are always on point!

My wife, daughter & myself ate here while I was visiting in Houston. We had a Groupon too. My daugther got the slider trio, EMU, KANGAROO & ANTELOPE. My wife got a Venison burger. Everyone enjoyed their food, the meat & fries were fresh, the apple slaw was house made and delicious. The cilantro aioli was ridiculous good. All plates... More

This is a very enjoyable place. It is a bit pricey but worth it because of the different choices of Wild meat. My son and his kids had venison. However, for kids they offer Chicken strips and they do have Angus Beef hamburgers for the person like me in the group. The fries are REALLY good too. Not to mention... More

Definitely will be back. Kinda out of the way from me but worth the trip. Food was great. Waiter was cool. Relaxed atmosphere...only thing was parking is a little wierd. It's kinda on its own little mini block. But definitely recommend.

Ate lunch here with my family and got really great food and service. Really well prepared meats that have no gamy taste and really are delicious. Their Guinness and Baileys Chocolate cupcake was exceptional. Wow is all I can say to describe it.

Our family ate here tonight and this restaurant food was delicious. Two of us had elk burgers, one had the boar burger one had that sliders variety of kangaroo, elk and water buffalo. The bread choices were pretzel bun or whole wheat and each was very good bread. The hosts were very helpful in selections from their varied menu choices.... More

My husband, friends and I eat here as often as possible. The food obviously is unique, but has tremendous flavor. The combinations of sauces that come along with the 3 slider plate is amazing. The python chili fries are surprisingly delicious with really tender meat. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Very casual with a good beer selection... More

Over dinner a few weeks ago, my teenage son and his friends thought it would be fun to go to a restaurant that served wild game. Places I've been to over the years tend to be a little expensive so we were surprised when we googled for restaurants in Houston that serve such fare and found Sammy's. We looked at... More
