I will definitely go back and try more menu options since Batanga has a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. In fact I want my house to be just like this! But I wasn’t nearly as pleased about the food. It was perfectly acceptable, just not nearly as...More

Batanga has always been one of favorite hangouts downtown Houston. We really love the live music. The bands are always great. The eats never disappoint and the drinks are always delicious. We like to hang out on the patio and listen to all the sights...More

Found this jewel of a restaurant after the monthly Critical Mass bike ride. Live band, tasty food, and pleasant atmosphere all in one. Perfect for a family meal, date night or just a social hangout. The Paella was big and filling!

We came here after leaving El Big Bad because we couldn't get service. From the moment we walked through the door of Batanga the service was fantastic. Our server, Orlando, took great care of us and the manager was fabulous. Not to mention the outstanding...More

Was seated fairly quickly, and the food was decent. Small portions were a bit pricy. There were problems with the bill, where we were over charged for several items. I pointed this out to the waiter. Several minutes later he returned the bill and I...More

We went as a group. We had several tasty bites. The three milk cake was delectable. As were the Empanadas which were deep fried.

Thank you inthegarden! We have recipes that represent all types of Latin American countries. Those empanadas are one of our best sellers and they are from Colombia.

Ok, besides the snotty hostess at the front who didn't want to seat us at all, this was perhaps the funest place we've been to in a LONG time. Thank God the other guy standing at the front door gave us the time of day...More

Batanga is my go-to tapas restaurant in Houston. They have several selections that are amazing! My favorites are the ceviche, empanadas, paella, mushroom croquettes, and cheese bread. Plus, the band that plays on the weekend is awesome. Food, music, generous drinks, and wonderful patio makes...More

Tapas (small plates) restaurant featuring dishes from various regions of Spain, South America and the Caribbean, including Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, and more. We have live Latin music Wednesday - Sunday, including Salsa, Merengue, Samba and other Brazilian styles, and Flamenco during Sunday brunch. The music is also piped outside to our 3,600 square foot bricked patio--the largest in downtown Houston--which features thick stalk bamboo and lush greenery. The historic clock tower sits right outside our patio fence. It's a cool vibe.
