I had lunch here yesterday and ordered the "El Sabroso" plate. It contained several different food types. Everything was just OK. The chips and salsa were quite good but the main entree plate was just average. Nothing special. I did have one frozen margarita which...was good. Service was attentive. The internet was not functional which was disappointing.More

I stopped by the Los Cucos on 290 (10690 NW Frwy) on a Saturday around lunchtime for takeout. When I told the host when I had in mind, he offered some suggestions on the menu. The food was good. No issues with this visit.

Chain. They do have an extensive menu. Pass on the margaritas. Service is hit or miss but the food is actually pretty good.

I came by for dinner on a weekday night about a month ago. I have eaten here before but not for a couple of years. This night the restaurant was fairly full with a 3 or 4 piece mariachi band playing. I ordered the shrimp...fajitas for my entree. The chips and two salsas arrived. The red was warm and the green was cool in temperature. I thought they were ok along with the chips (3). My fajitas arrived about 10 minutes later and again everything was acceptable. Plenty of onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. The charro beans were good too. Los Cucos provides a standard of service here in the Houston area. It's good, solid and dependable food. I have eaten at other locations around town and find they are all very similar as they should be.More

Another visit and another excellent visit. We enjoy the happy hour prices, both the warm red & cool verde sauces, love their various fajitas choices, the excellent bean soup, the appetizer combo. The service has always been friendly and efficient as it was again today....Only sorry that we limit our Mex-dining to no more than 2x per month!More

We had a dinner for 25 people 3 weeks ago. The staffs were very nice but a bit disorganized. It took nearly 30 minutes to take order and then 30 to get plate, at that time we had eaten so much chips that we weren't...hungry anymore. Probably a place to try again with a smaller crowd.More

Our group of 4 stopped for our first visit to any Los Cucos location. We were greeted and seated quickly and served just as warmly and quickly. From the "chip and salsa" guy to the server, we felt very welcome and well served. The extensive...menu gave us a lot of choices and each of us ordered a different dish. From chips and salsa to the entres, the food was hot and delicious. If you live in the area or are just passing through, this is a great option for Mexican and Tex-Mex. If you have a Los Cucos in your area, drive on past the established "Mexican" food chains and try Los Cucos.More

I used to love going to Los Cocos when visiting Houston. We even had a location briefly in Plano we used to enjoy. This time the food just wasn't as good as I remembered, and not as flavorful. Not that is was terrible, just not...wonderful. One of us also ordered a fajita burrito but it had no meat. The tea was either old, or instant and had a bitter flavor. I was a little disappointed in this visit.More

I was taken here by colleagues on my first visit to Houston and really loved it so insisted on lunch here again on my second visit. I also visited a couple of times for dinner and the food is always good. It was fast and...busy at lunchtime and quieter in the evening but great for dinner after we'd been over at the outlet mall shopping. The layout and style is more basic for evening - not fine dining but really relaxed and comfortable with good service. I can't forget their fish tacos which I now need to try and recreate as I'm back in Scotland.More

We went to this place around 4 pm and no one was in the restaurant but us, we order Entomatadas Enchiladas and grilled chicken breast with veggies, the chicken in the enchilada according to the menu should be shredded but was chunks of dry chicken,...but was eatable and the rice was bland and was accompanied by chore beans instead of re-fried beans not eatable, the other meal, which was the chicken and veggie, the chicken was like boiled chicken instead of grilled and the vegetables were almost raw. the last ting which brought this place down to 2 stars was the lady's bathroom which was a disaster with all staff sitting or going around not bothering to check. The price was cheap if the food was good.More

Los Cucos is a small chain and this restaurant excels in it. The place has a menu with about 8 color pages of tempting treats with photos. Service is prompt and the bartender is commendable. They offer all the standard Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes. The...green enchiladas got rave reviews as did the cheese enchilada. Beans were perfectly spiced. Chips and salsa were warm. However, the tamales leave something to be desired as they are undertreated with salt and lard. The masa falls apart. The homemade flour tortillas could have been a treat but turned out blah. Ceviche is an excellent appetizer and they slice the peppers and onions micro-thin.More

We visited this particular location of Los Cucos for the first time. We had visited many Los Cucos' locations before and usually enjoyed the food and experience. We had a large group of friends and we ordered both food and drinks. It appears that everyone...enjoyed what they ordered. I shared the Mixta for two which was a real treat and delicious. Plenty of variety although it seemed to be a bit pricey for $38 for two. Nonetheless, we had a good time and would probably return whenever the opportunity presents itself.More

The menu had a great variety at reasonable prices, and the service was prompt and friendly. We sat on the patio, but it didn't affect the service at all. The guacamole was made fresh right at our table. Everything we ordered was good, and our...bill wasn't outrageous. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.More

Located off the northbound US 290 frontage road, this café wasn’t all that hard to get to despite all the area's highway reconstruction. Its busy lot had free but scarce parking. Inside we found a pleasant décor, a full bar, table and booth options, and...at least nine TVs on the walls. Tables for the eight of us were ready before we arrived. A host led us to them. Our settings had linen napkins and clean silverware. David was our patient and attentive server. Our appetizer nachos were crisp and came with superb red and green salsas. Iced water was refilled without any need to ask. My enchiladas verdes plate had two corn tortillas filled with grilled chicken with green tomatillo sauce, cheese, and sour cream, garnished with avocado slices and slivers of red onion, with sides of mild Mexican rice and refried beans. Suffice to say everything was delicious! Prices were reasonable for a sit-down café. This was one small Mexican café that’s worth visiting again and again.More
