Love this cozy little restaurant located on its own little island. Valet parking was a pleasant surprise. Neat patio available for dining, but it was way too hot and humid for that. Place was practically deserted early evening on Friday night. Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive. She brought us crispy chips served with two deliciously spicy salsas. Eclectic... More

I think that this restaurant has decided to focus on happy hours versus lunch crowds. Service was fine, menu intriguing, prices quite fair. But there was no one there at lunch and it seemed that the kitchen wasn't really ready to prepare lunch... Hard to decide how to rate, but not sure that I will go back for lunch again....

We stopped in for a late lunch after running errands. The atmosphere was laid back. Service was spot on and friendly. House Margaritas were very refreshing. We tried the crab stuffed portabella appetizer...it was tasty but small for the money. Then we shared the entree sampler....Carne asada, shrimp asada, shredded chicken enchilada w red sauce, potatoes, and black refried beans.... More

Ate here with a friend about a week ago, Saturday night. I had seen the mixed reviews on another site but it's right down the street from my place and we had been wanting to try it for a while. I am glad we did and was pleasantly surprised. I will say it was not very busy, the patio outside... More

Very relaxed atmosphere and awesome food. They have a wide range of tequilas even the most expensive tequila. Servers and owner are nice and know their priority customer relationship. A little pricey but we'll worth it.

A group of us found our way to Tila's after multiple failed attempts to get a table anywhere else in Houston last minute on a Friday night. When we walked in the place was like a ghost town. It was super quiet and there was no hostess. I took a little walk through the dining area and saw a woman... More

I've been to Tilas twice the last month, just in case the first time was a fluke. But alas, the service is beyond horrible; the waiters seem lost in space, are inattentive and supremely slow. They seem to focus on getting drink orders, which come at snails pace, and then have to be reminded to bring the drinks. The food... More

Food was ok. Guacamole was the best I ever tasted!! Very small, quaint restaurant. Some would say cramped. Service was very good and they had live music during the afternoon which was very nice. Road construction outside makes it a little difficult to get to.

Tilas is to Houston what Javier's is to Dallas. Unbelievable menu in a quaint hideaway restaurant on a island in the middle of Shepherd construction. Take Clay to McDuffie and slide in for a fabulous meal! Celebrate New Year's Eve with reservations and a menu of creative favorites at either 5, 7, 9, or 11 PM. The Ceviche is light,... More

Wait staff was friendly and professional. Food was hot, spicy and delicious. We had the fajitas variados plate (enough for 2!) - chicken, steak, shrimp, fish...can you say YUM! The Tres chocolate for dessert was creamy and decadent. Less then $50 later, we are super happy campers!!

Description
Since the mid '80s, Tila's has challenged the boundaries of traditional Mexican cuisine with inspired, age-old family recipes. From brie cheese and pear quesadillas to tequila-marinated salmon with fresh kiwi and mango slices, the cuisine is anything but predictable. Only the vivid imagination and tequila-inspired tastes of Tila's could conjure up such extraordinary fare. Customer favorites include Salmon Borracho, Filet Mignon, Chiles en Nogada, and our signature marinated Chilean Sea Bass.
The patio provides the perfect retreat for the neighborhood crowd to unwind after a long day's work, weekend shopping or as a precursor to the night ahead. With homemade, all natural margaritas and an impressive selection of over 60 premium tequilas, patrons will be inspired to do absolutely nothing at all. And love every minute of it.
Tila's is warm, friendly and comfortable without any pretensions. Our guests feel at home with our unique family environment that makes dining here so special.
