Smokey dark walk past smoldering oak pits builds the suspense. A blackened menu board and a pit room crew that speaks a smoke hoarsened central Texas dialect reccomend a warm up on their website. You have arrived at Bbq nirvana. Sides? Who cares? Eat vegans....More

If you are anywhere near Austin, you must go to Lockhart and experience Smitty’s Market. The BBQ is superb but the entire experience is outstanding. As you wait in line to order, you feel the heat of the fire pits cooking brisket, ribs & sausages....More

... of Lockhart Q places. I have a soft spot for this location from 50 years of going there when Smitty slung the Q himself. It has faded somewhat since then after the family schism. But it is still good. In my opinion, not the...More

Planned this for a while so i was pumped. This was my favorite spot for atmosphere. They served lot more with sides. The brisket was moist and the ribs were pretty good.
