An unpretentious hidden little gem that doesn't pose as a You Tuber or Instagram heaven. It has a local feel, though it is frequented mostly by tourists. There is plenty of room in its two dining areas and an outdoor patio. The food and drinks...are very reasonable and tasty even if they are not presented in the most picturesque of ways, but its food, one is meant to eat it not photograph it. The staff are pleasant and the gentleman who runs the bar speaks pretty good English. It may not be the very best place in town but when you consider the prices and the atmosphere, it's pretty darn close. Oh, yeah, you get free coffee refills for as long as you want.More

Sitting in my lockdown in Los Angeles dreaming of travels past and hoping for travels future, I found myself thinking of the afternoon my wife and I spent drinking blackberry smoothies and writing letters and generally chilling and just plain BEING in Cool Beans a...while back. The coffee, the smoothies, the food, the wonderful jumble of books and handmade decor, the light reflecting off the lake into the cafe, the whole vibe of the place made me think that just possibly this was the coolest cafe on the whole planet. As a general note, if you're in Guatemala, and going to Tikal, don't rush through Flores. Cool Beans, and the swimming in the lake, and the views, make it well worth a real visit.More

I loved the smoothies here, the sandwiches were slightly bland but they bridged a gap. Wish I could drop by again! Popular with backpackers and travellers of all ages!

Most good Guatemalan coffee is exported so ironically it’s hard to find strong coffee in Guate. This is a simple cafe with strong tasty coffee.

We had a late lunch here. The setting is nice, overlooking the water, hammocks if you are a so inclined and there is plenty of shade to get respite from the heat of the day. We had the BBQ pork chops and the fried bananas...with cream dessert. Both were pleasant without being too memorable.More

Looks a bit shanty, but that is part of the charm! The food is good, staff very friendly, atmosphere relaxed.

This is one of those places where you bring your lonely planet, order a coffee or beer and plan the rest of your trip. Good drinks & food, decently priced. Fast WiFi and typical tourist hang. Don’t expect any locals but that doesn’t make it...a lesser spot!More

A wonderful spot! Very chill vibe, offering hammocks and a book-swap shelf. There is also a very friendly cat named Tiky. The owner makes his own bread and it is delicious. Definitely try it. Other dishes including nachos, the BLT, and the pancakes are great...too. The restaurant also offers a selection of craft beers!More
